John 00 Fleming releases “The Journey – JOOF Editions Volume 3”

Music

John 00 Fleming has announced the release of “The Journey – JOOF Editions Volume 3,” the third edition of his mix compilation.

Fleming has chosen the name “The Journey” as he feels that dance music is always growing and is not bound by any limitations, which is symbolised in the name.

Fleming’s sets are known for being intricately built to take listeners themselves on a journey, and the Sussex-based DJ and Producer says that his view on how sets should be built in that manner is represented in his JOOF editions.

“Playing longer sets isn’t about spending more hours behind the decks”, says John. “It’s about plot and planning. Reading, not where the floor’s going to be in 5 minutes, but the consensus on where it should be in 40 mins or an hour. It’s about trajectory. It’s about ebb, flow, nuance and subtle stylistic traverse. In many ways it’s the last true DJ art form and for many years now it’s been the most challenging, thrilling and rewarding part of what I do. ‘JOOF Editions’ albums are my testaments to that”.

He is not wrong about that, as “The Journey” is a hugely diverse compilation that ranges from trance, to progressive, to tech, to psy, to deep house, tribal, and techno. Then flow of tracks has also been crafted so that the album itself feels like a journey through all these different genres of electronic music.

From a calm beginning, the album progresses through the genres, picking up in intensity until finally reaching its peak with some of Fleming’s own favourites. This is definitely a compilation worth picking up if you are a fan of a diverse range of electronic music.
