Over the years the progressive house sound has picked up more energy and power with aggressive synths and more innovative sound designs. 2016 has shown a fair share of progressive house sounds which have shown its emotional, melodic deeper side and at the same time keeping the energy.

Here’s our pick of progressive house artists who have been having a phenomenal 2016 (in no particular order!)

1. Jakko

Lucas Bojakowski is one of the most talented progressive house DJ/Producers to come out of Brazil. JAKKO has already made a name for himself in the past two years with releases on Code Red, Protocol Recordings, Staar Traxx, Revealed and Armada Trice. His last track called Unido on Code Red was described as an old school Axwell tune which would be a huge motivation for any producer to go ahead to make music in the right direction. We look forward to his upcoming stuff in 2016.

2. Corey James

progressive house

Corey James has been definitely Liverpool’s best kept secret and is definitely one of the standout producers in 2016, in our opinion. Corey’s sincere hardwork and dedication has gotten him releases on all the big house music labels like Size, Protocol and more. His recent tracks ‘Make The Crowd Go’ and ‘Freak’ have made their way this year in the mainstage sets of Tomorrowland, Ultra and are getting support all over the world.

3. Ravenkis

One of the biggest emerging talents to come out of France in the house music scene is our next name on the list. Within a few months of starting out, Ravenkis earned some proper respect from music lovers for his super innovative and creative style of production. He has already released music on labels like Axtone Music, Spinnin’ Records, and Cr2 which is huge for any newcomer in the scene. His infectiously melodic progressive remixes have found a home at Axwell and Dirty South’s imprints. He also has the support from some of the biggest names in the industry like Axwell, Tiesto, Fedde Le Grand, Nicky Romero and Hardwell. 2015 began strongly for RavenKis as he was noticed by none other than Axwell, who proposed him to release his ‘Paradigm’ remix on his legendary label Axtone. The remix was supported by some of the biggest names of the industry like Nicky Romero, Fedde le Grand and Axwell himself to name a few.

4. Klahr

progressive house

Sweden is one of the hottest spots to find musical talent. Shying away from the big cities, Klahr moved out of Gothenburg to the rural countryside of Fjärås. A place he claims is perfect to grow up in and find yourself, being surrounded by peacefulness and a quiet calm. One such calming place, called Bräckan, held a beautiful panoramic view of the landscape, which inspired the beginning of his “Torn Apart” remix. Klahr naturally gives some credit to the beautiful Swedish countryside to contributing to his musical genius.

5. No Mana

progressive house

As the production wizard from Southern California, No Mana has been practicing musical alchemy and sculpting a craft that has never seen the light of day. However, with the work let loose in the recent days, his music has gotten to the best of Eric Prydz, Dillon Francis and many more. Within a year, he was releasing music on mau5trap, working closely with his electronic idol, and playing his first-ever live set as deadmau5’s opener at the Allentown Fair in Pennsylvania. No Mana prides himself on his versatility.

Caweh Passereh also known as CaPa, started playing with production software at an early age of 14. But as his interest grew, so did his passion for music. He came to sign his first track to Armada Records on his 18th birthday and that’s when he felt things got more serious. His track ‘Love the Heat’ got support from the likes of Stonebridge and Tiesto. His releases on Toolroom Records, Anjunabeats, Zerothree Music, Armada Trice has established him as one of the most exciting, creative and inspirational progressive producers in the current dance music scene.
