BEST EDM SONGS 2019

2019 was the year of diversity, many new generation artists stepped up their game and showed us what the community can offer.

We have seen a huge rise in all underground electronic music forms, indicating a bigger shift in the crowd’s interests. Overall, 2019 offered much room for innovation and creativity so much so that it was almost painstaking for us to compile a shortlist of 50 tracks that represented the community’s interests throughout the year.

From Deep house to Melodic Frenchcore, the list contains tracks from a wide spectrum of genres that were absolute favorites in their respective audiences. We took worldwide support, a number of streams, artist support, and various other criteria to make the list.

As various genres are featured in the list, we chose not to rank them in order as they are masterpieces in their own way.

Here are the 50 records that made the list:

Laidback Luke & Mark Bale – Party Starter

Laidback Luke who’s known for his innovative and live mixing technique has been promoting club-ready twisted house and one such hit is this track which is a collaboration between him and Mark Bale.

RayRay & Aazar – Back ‘n Forth

This jersey club genre, which is now being fused a lot with the commercial bass genre was a crowd favourite in 2019 and the best representation of that would be Back ‘n forth by RayRay and Aazar.

Dr. Peacock & Billx – Trip to Antarctica

Dr. Peacock, a legend of Harder dance genres, has always put out tracks that were consistent in production and this track is no different from that, although this is a Frenchcore record, it surrounds the listener with a calming feeling.

Skrillex – Mumbai Power (feat. Beam)

Skrillex finally made a comeback and that too a big one, this was also the first time for the fans to see a Skrillex Ableton Project. The track was played across many arenas by the man himself.

R3HAB x A Touch of Class – All Around The World (La La La)

This very famous rework of the ATC classic that was released in 1999 really topped the charts in 2019, with warm bass and delicate vocals, the song once again made it to the daily radio.

Tommie Sunshine & Haus Of Panda – The Power (feat. Snap!)

First premiered by Jauz and Tiesto at Tomorrowland, this rework of Snap’s “The Power” has topped Beatport charts and received massive support from many bass artists.

NGHTMRE, Shaquille O’Neal, & Lil Jon – BANG

Well, what can we say, this is the collaboration that the crowd did not expect but loved a lot. This track surely did some good amount of neck injuries along the rails of many festivals.

Alok & Sevenn – The Wall

Alok and Sevenn became more and more popular this year with this heavy collaboration. This track certainly garnered a lot of supports from artists across the spectrum.

Sub Zero Project ft. Christina Novelli – The Contagion

This year has been huge for hardstyle and especially for Sub Zero Project. Featuring Christina Novelli, this track brings back the infamous hard trance vibes back to the mainstage.

Toby Green – Smoke

Bigroom has taken different forms this year and out of that came “Smoke”. With almost a disturbingly fluid bassline and an energetic melody, “Smoke” takes any listener on a ride.

FISHER – You Little Beauty

After a massive hit “Losing it”, Fisher delivered another four to the floor club banger that surely made its own way in clubs across the world.

Riton x Oliver Heldens – Turn Me On ft. Vula

Oliver Heldens once again proved that house is here to stay. In, short, this track is a Shuffler’s Paradise.

Notion – Hooked

Notion is one of the select people that has mastered the art of producing proper Basshouse. The track garnered support from the likes of Tiesto, Jauz and many more.

SWACQ – No Strings Attached

This weirdly satisfying track consists of subtle organs and vintage acapella. Released on STMPD Records, the track has garnered the attention of Martin garrix, Tiesto, Jauz and many more.

Nicky Romero, Mike Williams & Amba Shepherd – Dynamite

This progressive house meets future house fusion has been a Tomorrowland favorite for many listeners. Featuring vocals from the very own Amba Shepherd. the track went on to top the Beatport charts.

NGHTMRE & ZHU – Man’s First Inhibition feat. Kidd Keem

NGHTMRE has had a hand of Midas this year. Graced with the vocals of Kidd keem, this grimy track has hit the radio and the charts right after its release.

Above & Beyond vs Armin van Buuren – Show Me Love

This year was filled with many big collaborations and a collaboration between Above & Beyond and the master Armin van Buuren himself is as big as it can get. First premiered at ASOT 900, it was played by many in festivals such as Dreamstate.

Blinders – Relieve

With fresh electro sounds of 2019, Blinders surely stepped up his game with this track. The overall support for the track has been massive, with significant appearances in major festivals.

LOOPERS & Seth Hills – Out of Control

Released on STMPD records, this groovy electro club monster has been an ID that was a fan favourite for a while.

Laidback Luke & Keanu Silva – Oh Yes (RetroVision Remix)

This remix of Laidback Luke and Keanu Silva’s “Oh Yes” has been the start for summer tunes. With the fresh sounds of Retrovision, the track has received substantial support from Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens and many more.

Charlotte de Witte – Form

With a fast-hitting acid sound, Charlotte de Witte unleashed “Form” on her very own label KNTXT this year. It has been played in festivals such as Awakenings by herself and many others such as Adam Beyer.

Mark Sherry – Sangre Caliente (Scot Project Remix)

Tech Trance has made a huge impact on the trance audience this year and this track is no exception. With heavy-hitting drums, euphoric old school melody and good breaks, this track captures the true sound of four to the floor trance within its span and leaves the audience craving for more.

Sefa – One Tribe

Sefa was given the responsibility of delivering the best Defqon Anthem one can make and he did not fail. With a super harmonious melody and heavy-hitting bass, “One Tribe” surely packs a punch that every hard dance fan needs.

Corti Organ – The Joker (Maarten de Jong Remix)

This remix of Corti Organ’s Joker was first premiered in “A state of trance” radio show. It was heavily supported by Armin van Buuren, Andrew Rayel and many more. With heavy drum and percussion work, this InHarmony release surely captures the essence of energy.

Paul Van Dyk vs Vini Vici – Galaxy

Trance master Paul Van Dyk and Vini Vici joined hands to make a “Stellar” track, “Galaxy” is not an ordinary Psytrance track, it has many features derived from classic Psytrance and Goa trance that gives the listener a feeling of nostalgia and happiness.

KSHMR & Lost Stories – Bombay Dreams [feat. Kavita Seth]

This flute laced, downtempo track which is a collaboration between Indian DJ/Producer duo Lost Stories and KSHMR has enchanted many in the community. The production standards of KSHMR become visible through this delicate piece.

N3bula ft. Mc Instinct – The Underground

Featuring unique and nostalgic sounding kick and bass alongside old school stabs, “The Underground” makes one hell of a heavy hitter. The track has been featured in many hard dance podcasts and festivals.

GAIA – Ganymede

Gaia has had a big year this week. The duo of Benno de Goeij and Armin van Buuren has moved a little towards the underground side of trance to experiment with the sound which resulted in this grimy beauty right here. The track is named after “Ganymede” which is one of the moons of the planet Jupiter.

deadmau5 – ASEED

The long-time ID “ASEED” finally got its release. The track is a part of the 9th installation of the infamous “We are friends” compilation which is put together by the Mau5 himself. This is certainly a treat to all Mau5 fans all around the world.

David Guetta & MORTEN – Never Be Alone (feat Aloe Blacc)

This David Guetta and Morten track was surely one of the most talked-about tracks of this year. Featured in many sets from Guetta himself, the track is a new twist on bigroom and groove. The track is gently lifted up by the vocals of Aloe Blacc.

KC Lights – SOL
Produced by KC Lights, this Tech House track was one of the biggest Tech house tracks of this year. The track was released on Tool room records.

TroyBoi – Do You?

This track has been floating around as an ID for years, it was finally released on Skrillex’s Imprint OWSLA and was also featured on Rihanna’s “SAVAGE X FENTY” show.

Barbatuques – Baianá (Jack Back Remix)

David Guetta’s Jack Back Moniker has been putting out club-ready tracks lately and this remix is one such release that made an impact. With percussions complementing the drums perfectly, this track definitely found its way onto the playlists of many.

i_o – House Of God

i_o has been an artist under the spotlight this year, with 3 EPs out this year, there is no stopping this rising techno star. “House of God” definitely represents what i_o puts out to his audience. This dark and grimy techno track has received tremendous responses from packed crowds in festivals such as EDC and Ezoo.

Monolink – Return To Oz (ARTBAT Remix)

With dark, groovy and yet emotional and melodic Vibes, ARTBAT’s rendition of Monolink’s “Return to Oz” turned out to be a massive crowd-pleaser this year.

Tiësto & SWACQ – Party Time

The godfather’s collaboration with SWACQ has been supported constantly around the world by the likes of Martin Garrix, Laidback Luke, Afrojack and many more. This highly energetic track was a part of Tiesto’s very own “Together EP”

i_o – System Error

“System Error” is one more example of why i_o is an unstoppable force, guided down by a deliciously acid vibe, “System Error” delivers the energy to any given crowd at any given time.

Jack Back – Put Your Phones Down (Low)

“Put Your Phones Down” by Jack Back is one such track that delivers a strong message alongside a groovy bassline. This track also celebrates the return of David Guetta aka Jack Back to his roots.

Martin Garrix, Matisse & Sadko feat. Michel Zitron – Hold On

First premiered during the Amsterdam Dance Event during Martin’s very own “The Ether”, “Hold on” instantly became an all-time favourite among his fan base. The track also features Michel Zitron’s powerful vocals.

DJ The Prophet – Wanna Play?

Set to 180 BPM, DJ The Prophet’s “Wanna play” is a high energy throwback to his old style Hardcore. The track was featured in Defqon 1 power hour and was supported by the likes of Dr.Peacock and many more. It was also ranked at 7 by the masters of hardcore polls this year.

Charlotte de Witte – Selected

With thunderous drums, a wide atmosphere and dirty stabs arranged beautifully across the track, “Selected” readily becomes a strong weapon in any techno DJ’s arsenal. This acid beauty was released on Charlotte De Witte’s very own KNTXT label.

Jonas Aden – I Don’t Speak French (Adieu)

Jonas Aden has been releasing banger after banger this year and this track marked the start of that streak. With minimum elements, Jonas Aden sparked groove and uniqueness in the track. “I Don’t Speak French” is a fun track to listen to.

REZZ x MALAA – Criminals

First premiered at Rezz Rocks 2, this track did spark a lot of appreciation within the community. Both their signature styles can be seen in the track. This electro-infused collaboration between REZZ and MALAA can literally steal souls out of human bodies.

Armin van Buuren vs Tempo Giusto – Mr. Navigator

With an anthem-like atmosphere and really catchy Vocals, “Mr. Navigator” is the best of both artist’s styles. The track is a part of Armin van Buuren’s latest album “Balance”.

Meduza – Piece Of Your Heart (Alok Remix)

Alok’s rendition of the hit record “Piece of Your Heart” is one of the select tracks that have been hailed to be better than the originals themselves. The extremely groovy basslines of Alok paired alongside the beautiful vocals of the original, make for a great after-party tune.

Chris Lake – Stay With Me

Not many Tech house tracks go around the usual groovy route and touch on other vibes. However, Chris Lake’s “Stay With Me” steps into the minefield of melody and gives the best out of both worlds.

Brooks – Waiting For Love (feat. Alida)

Brooks has been outperforming himself continuously and “Waiting for Love” is an obvious proof that he is doing so. This electro house track has received support from the likes of Tiesto, Martin Garrix and many others.

Avicii – Heaven (David Guetta & MORTEN Tribute Remix)

David Guetta and Morten’s remix of Avicii’s “Heaven” received a lot of love from many DJs all across the world this year. The original was a part of Avicii’s Posthumously released album “Tim”.

Avicii – Tough Love feat. Agnes, Vargas & Lagola (Tiësto Remix)

Tiesto also remixed one of the tracks from Avicii’s Posthumous album “Tim”. Tiesto’s rendition of “Tough love” aims to remind the essence of Avicii’s melody back again to the world, as Godfather himself once said “Sometimes it’s not the song that makes you emotional, it’s the person you think about when you hear it ”

Deadmau5 – SATRN

“SATRN” has been an ID for a long time. This chord driven masterpiece has been regularly played by Deadmau5 in his brand new Cube v3.0 sets. With the uncompromising melody and an interacting bassline, “Satrn” surely gives the listeners a lot more than just pure perfection.
