For 19 seasons, Strictly Come Dancing has delighted us with touching stories, complex choreographies, and famous faces we never thought we would see there.

Out of all those faces, we were curious to find out if there were any DJs on the show. It turns out that there were quite a few names. Unfortunately, none of them made it to the finals, but we are pretty sure they left the competition with improved ballroom dancing skills. Before we get into the DJs that made it on this list, let’s look at what has happened this season.

Season 19 has just announced its winners, making history once again with the first-ever deaf person to have won the show. Fans have been incredibly involved in the process and the winner, Rose Ayling-Ellis, has received tremendous support throughout the competition. Before the big final, fans had an entire week to bet on the finalists and the Strictly betting odds have been in Rose’s favour since week six.

The show has a solid fanbase, not just because it is an entertaining programme to watch, but also because viewers hold a part of the voting power for each episode. Since the first episode aired in 2004, viewers have been sharing Strictly Come Dancing tips and voting for the best dancers. But let’s get back to our DJs and see how they have been doing on Strictly.

Dev Griffin

Known for his weekend afternoon shows on BBC Radio 1, Dev Griffin has been a radio DJ for over 20 years. He was invited to participate in the 17th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 and was very excited to be on the show. Although he seemed like a strong contender on Strictly, his journey was cut short when he got eliminated in week four. Now, his fans can listen to him on a weekend show on Heart.

DJ Spoony

DJ Spoony is known all over the country as a radio presenter, a member of a garage production trio called Dreem Teem and a club DJ. Throughout his career, he has remixed songs from a few artists, including All Saints and Faith Evans, as well as hosted a UK garage show. In 2006, he was invited to take part in the fourth edition of Strictly Come Dancing, but, unfortunately; he didn’t last long on the show and was eliminated in the third week.

Scott Mills

From Radio 1 to Radio 2 to Radio 5 Live, Scott Mills is a well-known name in the industry. His most famous work to date is for his morning show on BBC Radio 1, The Scott Mills Show, but he has also done other projects outside of radio. One of those is Strictly Come Dancing, in which he took part in the 12th series. He ended his journey on the dance show in week six, becoming the 11th eliminated participant.

There are other lists that could have been added to this list, such as Vick Hope, who participated in season 16 and came in 12th or Clara Amfo, who participated in season 18 and came in 7th, the best place out of all DJs. Hopefully, there will be more music representatives joining the show for season 20, proving their dance skills to the whole of the UK.
