Top EDM Songs 2019 – 2019, a year which saw Dance music bring in a new era along with a lot of fusion between the genres and taking it up a notch for everyone. Clearly the year paved way for a new decade to come and make us ready for the wide spectrum of genres EDM is going to cover.

It saw a mix of both old and new genres coming back but this time creating a newer sound.

Here are the year’s decade defining tunes which we think are going to shape the future of Dance Music.

In the first track from his last studio album “Tim”, we have the legendary duo of Avicii and Aloe Black, and yet another song that reminds us of how emotionally impactful his music is. Moreover, the “Fan Memories Video” shows the huge impact he had in the world through his music. We are helped to relax by the soothing voice of Aloe Black.

2. Happier- Marshmello ft. Bastille

EDM has evolved from being centred around kick and bass to becoming centred around emotions. ‘Happier’ becomes the most emotionally charged track of the year, and the music video shows us that life will bring things and remove them, but the memories of the ones we lost never fade away.

3. Taki Taki – Dj Snake Featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna & Cardi B

A collaboration featuring the biggest superstars of the year it didn’t disappoint at all. Packing a punch, “Taki Taki” became a viral hit proving that Dj Snake is the king of international hits. He shows that language is no barrier to his music, just good dance music is enough to reach every corner of the world.

4. The Middle – Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey

Zedd has become a Pop Star of dance music since the release of “Clarity.” The DJ is at the forefront of shaping the genre and defining what it is going to be like in the future.

In addition to being a stunning piece of future pop, “The Middle” was the first track in the fusion genre to have become a global hit.

5. Good Things Fall Apart – Illenium & Jon Bellion

Having released three albums in 3 years, Illenium is one of the most prolific newcomers. His first single off his third studio album “Ascend” tells us he’s just not your regular dubstep guy.

Our spirits are raised high by Jon Bellion’s old age rock style.

6. Summer Days – Martin Garrix Featuring Macklemore & Patrick Stump

Compared to his regular Progressive House tracks, Martin Garrix presents a far more impressive track here. As Garrix gives it a spin, he takes us back to the days of house music by Chic, whereas Macklemore and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy add their own flavour to the track.

7. Takeaway- The Chainsmoker & Illenium featuring Lennon Stella

The Chainsmoker and Illenium became instant internet sensations after announcing their collaborative effort at Ultra Music Festival, where it premiered.

Stella lends her euphoric voice to the song while the boys together blend both styles very well.

The music video became the first one to be filmed at “The Vessel” while also charting at the top of the Billboards Dance Chart.

8. On my way – Alan Walker, Sabrina Carpenter & Farruko

Alan Walker brings a new summer favourite to our ears with the help of Sabrina Carpenter. Alan Walker’s signature sound combines Reggaeton, Pop and a blend of other styles.

9. Piece of Your Heart – Meduza Featuring GOODBOYS

By being the largest breakthrough track by an artist and winning the Grammy, the track put the world on hold. The new generation of house music will be influenced greatly by MEDUZA.

10. Heaven – Avicii Ft Chris Martin

Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, finally joined the long-awaited collaboration teased in 2014. In addition to charting third on Billboard Dance, the song is also a tribute to “Sky Full Of Stars,” which Avicii was a part of. The memorial video created in honour of Avicii is an emotional tribute.

11. All you need to know – Gryffin and Slander Featuring Calle Lehmann

The sleeper hit initiated Gryffin’s solo career and is one of his best tracks for his debut album “Gravity”.

Additionally, the track shows how much potential both Slander and Gryffin have when they’re combined. “Jason Ross” remixed the track as well, bringing the track to a new audience and creating a different experience.

15. Red Light, Green Light – Duke Dumont ft Shaun Ross

Adding a new spin to disco, Duke Dumont also gives us a visual treat for the audience to engage. The video showing a live performance that went viral shows that the track has more to offer the audience than just music.

16. Return Of Oz (Artbat Remix) – Monolink

This track made Artbat the longest standing members of the Beatport No 1 hit. Every DJ and producer on the planet played it in their sets this year. In typical Monolink fashion, his hypnotic voice will holds us captive.

17. Body Funk – Purple Disco Machine

It is no surprise to see this groovy and peppy hit revive Disco in the summer of 2019. “Body Funk” continues the party era of ‘Paradise Garage’ with the best ingredients from Purple Disco Machine. The catchy vocals can’t help but make us sing along.
