Having met by chance in 2007 this dynamic duo has been taking the world by storm portraying the immense talent South Africans possesses.
Pascal Ellinas and Dave Pearce are a production and DJ duo that are making South Africa proud; they have done remixes for big names including Above & Beyond, Roger Sanchez, Time Takers and many more.
This year they are set to take centre stage at Durban’s very own Rage Festival 2015 and they have also produced the anthem for this event, “Alchemy”. Before they grace our sunny shores we had the chance to catch up with them.
T.H.E – Firstly, thank you so much for taking out the time to chat to us. I cannot say how proud I am as a South African of how much you both have achieved.
Pascal & Pearce – Thanks for having us and for the kind words. We are forever grateful for all of the opportunities we have had, it’s an honour to get to do what we do.
T.H.E – Congratulations on the production of Alchemy, how did this journey occur?
Pascal & Pearce – We started the Alchemy project in June this year when we were asked to produce the official Rage anthem. We went in with the intentions of a trap/electro feeling with loads of energy combined with a big room sound, ultimately giving you the feeling of freedom.
T.H.E – You have played in front of your South African fans before. What can fans expect from your set this at this year’s edition of RAGE Festival?
Pascal & Pearce – Yeah it’s always good to be back at Rage, it’s hands-down one of the biggest festivals in South Africa. We have loads of new music and a new visual show, so you are in for a real treat!
T.H.E – Having performed at Rage Festival before, what are you expecting from this years’ experience?
Pascal & Pearce – Bigger, louder and more epic than last year, which is actually really difficult to do as last year was incredible. The guys at G&G out do themselves every year, always making sure the bar is raised.
T.H.E – Are there any new projects in the work that we can look forward to?
Pascal & Pearce – Yes we have just finished off a couple of remixes and originals, our latest remix which was for Chambers is currently on radio.
T.H.E – Lastly, would you have any messages for fans who will be attending the festival?
Pascal & Pearce – Just enjoy the feeling of freedom while it lasts, make new friends, take care at the parties, eat well so you can rave all night, and be prepared for one of the wildest weeks of your life. :)
