yoshi & razner interview

Yoshi & Razner talk about working together, amassing millions of streams online, studio setup and more.

Aditya – Hey guys, we’re glad to have you for this interview. How was the first half of this year for you?

Yoshi – Thank you very much for interviewing us. The first half of this year was very good , at last it seems we have left the pandemic behind. We got great results with our releases but more importantly, we have stopped a bit with our trance production to study new sounds.

We are still training continuously and have been exploring new sounds, something between progressive and techno. It’s been a bit detrimental to our yearly release volume, because we’ve put a lot of time into it, but the first track has been signed to a major label so we’re happy.

Razner – In addition to that, some of the most important events such as Luminosity (ADE week) and Dreamstate SoCal are betting on us , giving us the opportunity, which is amazing!

Aditya – You both are twins, that’s outstanding. How easy/tough is for y’all to agree upon a thing?

Razner – We are very lucky because we have a very good mutual understanding when it comes to DJing and producing

Yoshi – We sometimes might have different opinions but in the end we always reach an agreement. In fact we believe that’s for our benefit

Aditya – Though you’re twins, in what ways you are different from each other?

Razner – Musically speaking we are very similar but if we go deeper we have some different tastes

Yoshi – I may be a little more emotional and my brother a little tougher and the result of that rapport is our essence.

Aditya – You’ve amassed millions of streams online, how do you feel about that?

Yoshi – It’s amazing as we spend long hours in the studio and when you see that people appreciate your music, it makes you feel, it was worthy.

Razner – Yes, It charges your batteries to continue on this path that is sometimes very hard

Aditya – Who are your influences and why?

Yoshi – We started listening electronic music at a very young age, here in Spain the first ones who gave us our first taste of music were Djs like Dj Napo, Christian Millan, Dj Nano and Suze.

Later on when we started to get more interested in production, without a doubt Bryan Kearney, Darren Porter, Metta & Glyde, Ucast, Sean Tyas and Factor B are the ones who have influenced us the most in our sound today.

Aditya – When did y’all decide to pursue DJs/Producing as a full-time career?

Razner – Well , right now we are not dedicated full time to this, we have morning jobs. We are in the process of learning and improving our English speaking, apart from this, the rest of the time we dedicate it to music.
I wish our dream to be dedicated full time to our music becomes a reality soon

Y’all are playing ADE this year, that’s exciting! What are y’all looking forward to?

Razner – It’s incredible for us it’s still hard to believe it, playing at ADE is one of the dreams of every producer or dj.

Yoshi – We would like to thank to Bo and his team at Luminosity Events for this opportunity , we will be eternally grateful. We can’t wait for this day to come ,We are looking forward to it.

Aditya – What’s your studio setup like?

Razner – Our setup is not very complex, we use Adam A7x monitors, an M-audio keyboard, good acoustics in the studio and Ableton live with its corresponding plugins and others that we have been add little by little, but all software.

Yoshi – We believe that for the moment this is enough to make music, maybe in the future we will incorporate some external gadgets, but we are comfortable with what we have.

Aditya – Any tips for the beginner producers out there?

Razner – I think the best advice we can give to those who are starting out is to be patient, persevere and sacrifice. It is a long road, sometimes difficult at times, but sooner or later the good news will come.

Nowadays there is a lot of information on the net and if you know how to search well you can learn a lot. We have learned by watching tutorials, reading a lot of information about production, putting it into practice and above all making a lot of mistakes, it’s the best way to learn, at least that’s what has worked for us and we continue to learn day by day.

We have learned from people who have been in the industry for many years, but also from people who have been in the industry for a short time!

Aditya – Lastly, if you disguise yourself as eachother, would your fans recognize?

Yoshi – hahaha good question, over the years we have been more or less alike, it depends on the stage. Nowadays they say we are quite similar. One easy way to tell us apart is because I have a tattoo on my arm, so we can’t fool anyone.
