German dance music legend ATB follows up his recent hits “Your Love (9pm)” and “Like That” with a fresh new single entitled ‘Highs and Lows.’

Sometimes you gotta look to the past for the way to the future and that’s precisely what’s happened with the creation of this single. You see, ATB and York (aka Torsten Stenzel) are old friends and first collaborated together on 1999’s “Fields of Love.” Nearly 25 years later, they’re back at it, but this time they’ve brought on talented singer-songwriter Au/Ra (aka Jamie Aura Stenzel), who holds over one billion streams to her name and also happens to be York’s daughter. The result is phenomenal – ‘Highs and Lows’ is the perfect slice of dance-pop, combining rubbery basslines and flowing synths over Au/Ra’s commanding, heartfelt vocals.

Now, a little bit about the artists…

ATB had his big breakthrough moment with his hit single “9pm (Till I Come)” in 1998. The track took the German producer and DJ to the top of the UK singles charts becoming the first dance song to reach number 1 in the UK. But that’s not all: ATB’s debut single also peaked in several top 10 charts worldwide, including the US Billboard charts, and opened the door for dance music on mainstream radio.

His creative spirit continued to flourish with an impressive series of hits including “Don’t Stop”, “Ecstasy”, “Let U Go”, “What About Us”, “Move On,” “When It Ends It Starts Again,” “Your Love (9pm)” and “Like That”. ATB’s collaboration with fellow German DJ Topic and Swedish singer A7S “Your Love (9pm)” reached more than 450 million Spotify streams worldwide, charted #1 on the German airplay charts, #4 on the worldwide Shazam charts, and #6 on the official German charts.

A total of 10 studio albums and over 55 gold and platinum awards in numerous countries underline the German’s status. On top, ATB has been non-stop in the renowned DJ Mag Top 100 ranking for almost two decades now.

Torsten Stenzel is one of the most successful dance producers of the 90s and 2000s with projects like “Sakin & Friends” (European top positions with “Braveheart”, “Nomansland” etc.), “Taucher”, “Ayla” (in cooperation with “Tandu”), “Suspicious”, “NUKE”, “Diver & Ace”, “Red Light District” etc. At the end of the 90s the project “York” was born together with his brother Jörg Stenzel and immediately the first single “The Awakening” was a sensational success in all European countries (e.g. gold status in the UK) and set a trademark with the typical “York” guitar.

With the second single “On The Beach” this success was extended even further and reached among others the Top 3 in the UK and chart positions all over Europe and the USA. Numerous remixes (including Faithless) and collaborations with artists such as ATB (“Fields Of Gold”) solidified the cult status of “York”, which continues to this day.

With over a billion streams to her name Au/Ra, singer, songwriter, and cross-platform world-builder, Jamie Aura Stenzel, has already established herself as a powerful voice in the world of dark electronic pop. Jamie had already been making music for several years when, aged just 16, her song Panic Room became an airplay behemoth and put Au/Ra on the map.

Further collaborations with the likes of Alan Walker (on Darkside — a colossal hit with over 450m streams to date), Jax Jones (i miss u), Alok (Side Effect), R3HAB & Afrojack (Worlds On Fire) and Cheat Codes embellished her bonafide popstar credentials while contributing music to record-breaking game Death Stranding and creating spaces to collaborate with fans through Discord, Minecraft, and Twitch have cemented her status as one of modern pop’s freshest and most forward-looking talents.

“Highs and Lows is available March 3 on Virgin Records Germany”
