ATLiens are reprising their ‘Space Cathedral’ EP with a massive 15-track remix package arriving by way of Bassrush Records, featuring some of bass music’s finest putting their spin on the original five-track offering, including remixes from Cyclops, Dion Timmer, ZEKE BEATS, SubDocta, and more.

Kicking the project off comes three fresh takes on the title track. Jkyl & Hyde set the bar with a menacing dubstep flip that deepens the sci-fi and space travel elements while adding in murderous bass-heavy drops. HE$H switches the style up, blending pitched rap vocals, a trap-leaning swagger, and some brain-bending sound design to round out this experimental bass remix. VAMPA completes the trifecta of reworks with a raucous riddim remix. Ominous undertones take you to the post-apocalyptic planet while gritty metallic drops score the sounds of destruction that brought that world to its devastated state.

“I have looked up to ATLiens and their music since I started producing back in 2016,” says VAMPA. “In full circle fashion, I have had the honor of joining them on their latest tour, and was asked to do an official remix for their title track ‘Space Cathedral.’ Being the first official remix of my career, I was super stoked to push my limits and provide a new twist and sound to these drops. This remix is the first of 10 releases this year; happy to come out the gate swinging!”

Delivering the lone remix of “Obsidian Vortex,” Codd Dubz elevates the energy for a ruthless heater. Sinister laughter and twisted gunfire give listeners a warning of what lies ahead. The powerful ragga vocals build the intensity, which is amplified by an alarm-raising undercurrent. Gritty industrial sounds are layered with piercing lasers and dark growls for a devastating impact in the drop. Codd Dubz’s remix is a futuristic war anthem with no regard for human life.

“I’m super stoked to be able to give my touch to the absolute banger of a track by ATLiens,” declares Codd Dubz. “Being able to remix one of my favorite tracks from the duo was so much fun and I’m super stoked for Bassrush providing the light of day for this remix.”

“Purgatory” presents the most unique iterations of the project, with five different takes on the standout single. Cyclops unveils a rework of the track that is ever-progressing, exploring three distinctly hard-hitting drops to keep listeners engaged. Adding an air of mystique, Dion Timmer injects worldly instrumentation and spiritual chants before drifting into pure dubstep madness.

Chunky drums and uneasy undertones serve as the foundation of ZEKE BEATS’ remix. Lazer-like synths and gunshots score a scene of extraplanetary warfare. LEVEL UP pairs shimmering futuristic synths over filthy bass and doomy undertones for a sound that mirrors a fight between good and evil. INFEKT ends our time in “Purgatory” with a brutish remix that flexes his sound design talents and is assured to set stages ablaze.

“BLUE SKIES // CRAZY” gets split into two distinct tracks for the remix pack. Duecez take on “Blue Skies” allows the epicness of the original to bleed through before hitting fans with a fake out that moves from uplifting leads to fierce, grinding drops. Taking listeners deep into the madness comes Jiqui’s cavernous experimental remix of “Crazy.” HURTBOX’s take on the song pairs the emotive vocals with drilling dubstep for a merciless rework. Utilizing powerful chords, SubDocta resets the energy with his version of “Crazy.”

Futuristic and militant, this rendition is nothing short of commanding. The closing keys inject a deep layer of emotions to cap off the remix with class. Drawing inspiration from psychedelic rock, Kliptic’s flip fuses a hazy intro with mind-melting dubstep drops for a sound that’s pure insanity.

Kliptic shares the process behind his rework: “I’ve normally stuck with 150 bpm for my tracks, so diving into a slower BPM really helped me explore other sounds and styles! I cranked it out in just two days, switching up the BPM really gave me a spark of inspiration and I proceeded to finish six songs in the following week. Major shoutout to ATLiens and Bassrush for the opportunity and creative spike! Everything just came together how it was supposed to and I’m super stoked for my first official remix to come out!”

Drawing the remix project to a close is beastboi’s remix of “comingforyou.” Touching vocal bends drift over stirring soundscapes creating a sense of longing in the introduction and breaks. The drops are glitchy, energetic, and triumphant. From the twisted brass stabs to the forward-thinking flourishes, it’s an electronic anthem that’s riddled with a sense of hope that cuts through the darkness.

Atlanta’s ATLiens have taken the bass scene by storm. Known for their extraterrestrial existence and masked aura, their chrome faces and red-illuminated eyes have become a staple in the scene. The duo unveiled their sophomore EP ‘Ghost Planet,’ with Bassrush in 2019 and followed it up with an impressive remix pack. Their ‘Space Cathedral’ EP followed suit on the label last year. The duo is currently in the midst of their official ‘Space Cathedral’ Tour with stops remaining in Seattle, Minneapolis, and San Jose. They’ve been supported by who’s who in the industry including Skrillex, RL Grime, NGHTMRE, SLANDER, Illenium, Diplo, and more.

With 15 remixes from bass music’s finest, ‘Space Cathedral (Remixes)’ is a massive resurrection of ATLiens latest body of work.

ATLiens’ new ‘Space Cathedral (Remixes)’ is available on all platforms via Bassrush Records.
