Trading in his signature dubstep sound for his first official foray into drum & bass, Eptic returns to Monstercat today with the impressive new single, “Payback.” Infusing hard rock elements with his own monstrous sonic complexities, the resulting heavy banger could easily convince fans that he’s been churning out dnb records since day one.

Eptic says, “Payback is the first drum & bass song I’ve made in 7 years. With this song, I want to pay homage to the jump-up style that got me into producing. I have more respect than I already had for dnb producers since it was so difficult to get it right. This was one of my most-requested unreleased songs so I felt like I owed it to my fans to give it my best shot and I’m very pleased with the outcome.”

“Payback” is the third in a string of heaters on Monstercat this year, following his anticipated return at the top of 2021 with “Stop Pretending,” and later, the boundary-pushing “Shadow People” in February. Eptic’s creativity and personality extend beyond his music and into the realm of graphic design, where he’s developed his community-favorite robot, Computron, a recurring character woven through his musical identity. With slots on Excision’s Bass Canyon and Beyond Wonderland SoCal just announced, catch Eptic back on the road, debuting his three new tracks live for the first time.
