Now, René LaVice’s Device label joins forces with social media star Arron Crascall for new single Lockdown in an effort to raise money for Royal Free Charity’s Covid-19 Fund.
René LaVice (winner of Best International Artist and Best Radio Show at the Drum & Bass Awards 2020) and Arron Crascall (A Plus) have decided all download profits of Lockdown go to Royal Free Charity’s Covid-19 Fund that supports staff at Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.
Taking us into new territory, Lockdown is created in crazy and uncertain times, sharing the story behind the release René LaVice tells us: “Arron and I were chatting on Instagram one day, and one of the skits he did about the whole lockdown situation gave me the idea to suggest that we release a track called ‘Lockdown’ and then donate all the profits to charity. Arron liked the idea and suggested we donate to the NHS.” Expanding on the influences for Lockdown around current circumstances, René continues:
“Arron also had the idea to incorporate some foghorn elements to the drop, so I figured out a way to synthesise one of the most obnoxious foghorn sounds ever, and we ended up with something that sounds like a bizarre elephant safari trip gone wrong. The chaos in the track really speaks to the chaos we are all experiencing now, and it was fun but also cathartic for us to release it. It makes me happy that we can release something that will bring enjoyment to people but also gives all of us an opportunity to support the NHS.”
Arron Crascall is a social media star who also takes on the DJ / producer moniker A Plus. Known for his unique, funny and friendly style across his socials, Arron brings a wealth of laughter to his fans that spans an enormous following of 6.5M followers on Facebook, 4.9M followers on Instagram, 3.4M followers on TikTok and a further 609K subscribers on his YouTube channel.
