A veteran of the Indian Electronic Music scene, Piyush Bhatnagar aka Sound Avtar has been one of the flagbearers of Bass Music in India.
Piyush started his journey as a producer with bootlegs of Bollywood tracks, but a decade ago, he stumbled upon a style of music that changed his life for years to come.
He explored the intricate world of bass music and for nearly 5 years, and eventually decided to make Drum & Bass and Dubstep his standout genres. Sound Avtar’s first release in the world of Bass Music came in 2012 when he released a heinous face-melter called ‘Top Gun’.
After the success with ‘Top Gun’, the producer followed up with mighty tunes like ‘Scattered Light Tunnel’, ‘Cursed’, ‘Alarm Symphony’, and ‘Under the Light’, which featured in the Top 30 on the Beatport Glitch Hop and Dubstep Charts.
Sound Avtar’s production style feature tearing basslines and monstrous drops, with a shade of euphoric synths, and he has championed these sounds in tracks like Turbulent Flow, Twisted, and Silver Cloud, which exude the depth and emotive power of his influences.
Sound Avtar’s last release was ‘Cyber Soul’, a stomping up-stepper packed with sophisticated synth work, and after a short hiatus, the Mumbai based producer is back with an emotional Drum & Bass roller full of glistening harmonies and a feathery bassline.
‘Your Love’ is a signature Sound Avtar tune which conveys the meticulous and transportive sounds he has been pushing in his recent releases. With its airy atmospherics and simple drum grooves, the track takes us to the drop, where it bursts into an immersive Drum & Bass roller, delivered with alluring progression.
