Volac is pouring out their grooviest record to date with “Naughty Water,” a saucy house single being served up on Insomniac Records.

The libations are flowing freely in the minds of the Moscow-based duo Volac, as the unpredictable production pair aims to fill our cups with a top-shelf tech house track from their private collection.

“Naughty Water” is explicitly reserved for the type of night where inhibitions are meant to be checked at the door. On it, the boys attempt to quench their thirst for a good time by whipping up a spirited concoction that is one part low-slung, one part mischievous, and one-part club-focused.

There’s a certain charm about the track’s cavalier vocal hook, distilled with an overarching go-with-the-flow attitude that refuses to make a fuss about what’s on the menu.

Stirring beneath the spoken word phrases is a cocktail made from rippling basslines, tumbling percussive hits, whirring one-shots, murky synth stabs and a garnish of hip-hop flavor. It’s a bespoke recipe they’ve been since the earliest days of lockdown, and it’s finally ready to be sipped on over ice.

“‘Naughty Water’ has different meanings for different people,” says Volac. “For some, it is just a water, but for others it may be a mix of alcohol. But the question is, what does ‘Naughty Water’ mean to you?”

Nearly a year has passed since the two cartoonish Russians last poked their heads in on Insomniac’s imprint. “Muchacho” saw them pulling inspiration from their countless excursions in South America through a sweltering single steeped in Latin flair.

The year before that, they tapped into their bass-heavy specialty on the double sided single, ‘Super Cute / Feel the beat,’ teaming up with Stace Cadet and Neon Steve on separate collabs, respectively. Known for embracing all shades of house music, their catalog is riddled with troublemaking tracks tracing back to their origins in G-house.

On their latest offering, “Naughty Water,” Volac pushes out an inebriating and groove-focused tech house single that will provoke the dancefloor to enjoy itself well past the legal limit.
