Just a few weeks after releasing his dance-noir single “Risky Business,” ZHU returns today with a Mathame remix that amplifies the song’s strange mystique.
The Italian DJ/producer duo—brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli—stretch out the cut’s low-lit ambiance into something otherworldly, adding soaring synths to the anxious drums that power the original.
Mathame’s reimagining of “Risky Business” is still a club track, but one that seems to
float somewhere above the dance floor. The remix arrives alongside a visualizer that mirrors the conspiratorial imagery of the video for ZHU’s original, which featured mysterious images of an endeavor known only as Project 20201. It’s an appropriate echo of the remix’s more atmospheric take and a fitting visual complement to Mathame’s breathless electronics.
