Electronic music, future technology and incredible visual displays put Russia’s Alfa Future People firmly on the festival map at the event’s second edition.

The second edition of electronic music and future technology festival, Alfa Future People, took place in Bolshoye Kozino town, near Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, from July 17 – July 19, 2015. Around 40,000 visitors from Russia and around the world descended on the festival, to witness acts including Art Department, Deadmau5, Jamie Jones, Knife Party, M.A.N.D.Y., Nero, Netsky, Steve Angello, Paul Van Dyk and Underworld perform. Impressive production values with a sensational main stage design and show-stopping fireworks displays ensured a spectacle for the crowds.

In total, over 120 DJs, musicians and live bands performed across 4 stages on the sun-kissed, 125-acre festival site. Alongside headline acts like Deadmau5, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Angello, Knife Party, Sander van Doorn, Fedde Le Grand, Nero, Borgore, Netsky, the futuristic main stage also played host to the leading stars of the Russian dance scene, including Arty, Swanky Tunes and Bobina. The Live & Bass stage saw stunning live shows from Underworld, Infected Mushroom and Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, alongside sets from Art Department, Booka Shade, Claude von Stroke, Jamie Jones and M.A.N.D.Y. Moscow’s leading clubs and promoters Arma 17, Gipsy, Mendeleev and Vanilla Ninja also brought the minimal techno and deep house beats, showcasing a wealth of talent from the increasingly strong Russian underground scene.

With a varied array of music styles, from house and techno to dubstep, drum’n’bass and trance, there was a wealth of forward-thinking electronic music on display. Impressive visual displays and dramatic firework displays bolstered the experience as guests partied from day to night. Alongside the music programme, the festival also featured technology and sports displays, panel discussions and tech launches, including virtual reality experiences and the European premiere of new model of the GoPro chamber. Guests could also take advantage of the superfast 4G and Wi-Fi “Beeline” to share impressions and pictures of the event. This reached its peak during Deadmau5 set with around 5000 simultaneous photo and video uploads.
