The annual BBC Radio 1 Dance Awards have announced their winners for 2022 rounding out an outstanding year.

With the winner determined by a jury that consisted of Radio 1 Dance DJ’s and producers, the winners include names like Chase & Status, Fred Again… and Kx5 (Kaskade & deadmau5) among others.

A year filled with ‘viral sensations, game-changing productions and crowd-pleasing DJ sets spanning party islands the world over’ is coming to an end and being commemorated by awarding the very best in dance music.

Chase & Status took home the top award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Dance Music’ while Dance Vocalist of the Year went to Clementine Douglas. While Breakthrough Artist of the Year went to Nia Archives, LF System took home Dance Track of the Year for ‘Afraid To Feel’ and Electronic Chill Track Of The Year went to Kx5, the collaborative project by Kaskade and deadmau5, for ‘Escape ft. Hayla.’

Speaking about the Dance Awards 2022, Danny Howards said, “2022 has been an amazing year for dance music in terms of releases, new artists breaking through, and in the mainstream. More importantly, it’s the first full year we’ve had back in the clubs, Ibiza, and festivals since the pandemic which has created so many great moments. The Radio 1 Dance Awards is the perfect reflection of what has been a monumental year for the scene so I’d like to big up everyone shortlisted and say congratulations to all the winners. Thank you for the music and memories!”
