Having ended 2015 in high spirits, leading Barcelona promotion Checkpoint is now ready to unveil its brave plans for 2016, all starting on New Year’s Day.

Checkpoint takes pride in exploring the relationship between avant-garde art and techno and is where all these things collide. They do so from a fantastic home base of Theatre City Hall in Barcelona, a multi-purpose venue situated on Barcelona’s neuralgic center.

As well as great DJ and live act offerings from the worlds of house, techno and minimal, Checkpoint also collaborates with artists from across various disciplines including sculpture, light, 3D mapping and painting, adding audiovisual projections and musical showcases at Art Lab second stage.

Joining them in the New Year will be guests such as Valentino Kanzyani and Nicholas Lutz for a very special event on New Year’s Day, then comes Franceso Del Garada, John Dimas and, for a LOUD-CONTACT showcase, Perlon label’s starlight Sonja Moonear, and then representing Park & Ride will be Nastia and Zendid.

That’s all just in January, but into February romanian icon Priku, Slow Life talents S.Moreria (live) and Laurine will play, as well rare to see Melchior Productions Ltd (live), Janina and Re-UP from Kina Music. Finally for now, March will bring another romanian rising talent as is Barac, Robin Ordell, frenchman micro house pioneer Cabanne and natural leader tINI for lots of underground musical fun.

With cult operators from the contemporary worlds of house and techno all lining up. there can be few better places to party in Barcelona during 2016 than with the Checkpoint crew.
