We are just about 2 months away from one of the biggest nights in the music industry and the nominations for the 60th Grammy Awards have been unveiled.
Veteran American rapper and 21-time Grammy Award winner, Jay-Z leads the nomination race with a total of 8 nominations, including nominations for album of the year, record of the year, song of the year and best rap album, all thanks to his hit album ‘4:44’. American rapper and song writer, Kendrick Lamar follows with 7 nominations, courtesy of his album ‘DAMN’. The ‘24K Magic’ star, Bruno Mars has the third highest nominations with 6 nominations. Following him closely with 5 nominations each are Childish Gambio, Khalid, No I.D. and SZA.
The best dance recording section features tracks from Bonobo, Camelphat & Elderbrook, Gorillaz, LCD Sound System and Odesza. While the best dance/electronic album section comprises of Bonobo, Kraftwerk, Mura Masa, Odesza and Sylvan Esso.
‘Something Just Like This’ by The Chainsmokers & Coldplay and ‘Stay’ by Zedd & Alessia Cara are nominated for best pop duo/group performances. They are pitted up against ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi & Danny Yankee (featuring. Justin Bieber), ‘Thunder’ by Imagine Dragons and ‘Feel It Still’ by Portugal. The Man.
The 60th Annual Grammy Awards are all set to take place on January 28, 2018 at Madison Square Garden in New York city, and will air live on CBS.
