Superstar DJ/Producer, one-third of Major Lazer and one-half of Jack Ü, Diplo has become one of the most sought after DJs in 2015! With the recent release of his album with Skrillex and the upcoming release of his Major Lazer album, Diplo is as we say ‘on fire’.
With their track ‘Lean On’ reaching over 32 million plays on YouTube in just a month, Diplo has confirmed that he wishes to concentrate on Major Lazer for now.
“It was definitely a hobby the first time. Second time we were just trying to figure out how to make it work. And this time we’re trying to establish Major Lazer as a really big deal and an awesome experience for people,” says Diplo. “Our crowd is really young. I think our music represents something really new.”
Having named his second son, ‘Kathryn Lockhart, Lazer’, Diplo has been the forerunner for Major Lazer which recently released their own cartoon series on FXX and who’s album, ‘Peace Is The Mission’ drops soon.
Also, since we had to get your attention with the Rihanna tag in the title, here’s what Diplo recently said about his studio session with Rihanna,
“I was in the studio with Rihanna two weeks ago, still playing the game. I was trying to convince her why she should do so-and-so, and thinking, ‘Lean On is bigger than any of her songs around the world right now. Why am I even sitting here trying to negotiate?’”
