Can 2020 get any worse than it’s already been?
It seems like it sure can. Just yesterday the electronic music industry was jolted with the news of the sudden loss of another young pioneer. This time around Circus Records shared the news of the sudden death of 31-year-old dubstep veteran Cookie Monsta.
While Cookie Monsta opened up about the fact that he struggled with depression and mental health issues in 2018, his cause of death remains unknown at this time. In their statement, Circus Records stated, “Out of respect for Tony’s family, we will hold off on commenting any further until deemed appropriate.”
really sad to hear the passing of cookie monsta. i never knew him personally but have only heard amazing things about him.

From the outpour of admiration and grief coming from the EDM community, he was clearly respected and admired for his art. Here are some of the tributes from people across the industry.
Man I almost forgot about this one. I can’t tell you how many times I played this song on loop in my car, headphones, speakers etc. Share your favorite cookie songs with all your friends today and every day so we can help him live forever https://t.co/4Bh5V2M3hh

Very sad to hear this. I remember first meeting him like 10 years ago in a green room and he was just calmly reading a newspaper while everyone was drinking and partying. Always stuck with me for some reason. Played out a lot of his tunes over the years. He will be missed. Rip
