Seemingly a step in the right direction, Ibiza has moved its coronavirus alert system down to medium risk in line with the other Balearic Islands. This means that the covid-19 restrictions on nighttime social gatherings in Ibiza have been lifted.

The measure that came into effect earlier this week now allows for social gatherings between 2 am and 6 am will now be allowed without restrictions.

Restaurants and Bars will also see some relief, in spite of still having to close at 2 am, they will be able to permit eight people to a table indoors and 12 people to a table outdoors.

This new ruling will remain in place for the next 2 weeks before the situation is re-evaluated on September 29th by the authorities.

The current data showed that as of September 10th, the 14-day cumulative rate was 276.6 cases per 100,000 people, below the threshold for tougher restrictions which have been set at 350 cases per 100,000 people.

As reported by DJ Mag, masks will remain compulsory inside public premises and on public transport, while smoking will also remain prohibited in bar and restaurant environments.

They also shared that passenger locator forms will no longer be necessary for fully vaccinated internal travelers, arriving from other parts of Spain.

While this will be a slow transition, some nightlife venues on the White Isle are currently running outdoors but have been limited to seated reservations, with restrictions on music levels, etc.
