It is good news for young music producers from across the globe as the superstar DJ Kygo and his manager Myles Shear enter into a ‘worldwide talent development partnership’ with Sony Music.

Yes! The partnership will see the birth of new imprint, Palm Tree Records, which will focus on identifying and nurturing artists in the EDM space.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our successful relationship with Kygo and Myles,” said Rob Stringer, who hailed Kygo as one of the most exciting acts today and for his forward thinking. He also acknowledged Shear’s innovation and creativity in developing artistry.

The label is also part of a larger plan that Kygo and Shear have in mind – to develop a full-service system for new artists, which will include the integration of their newly launched artist management company.

Having been a very passionate and responsible producer himself, here’s what Kygo had to say: “I’ve always been very fond of working with talented, undiscovered artists in my own releases. It’s been an amazing process to watch these artists grow and now I’m able to help projects I love by offering a label and management service with an incredible team.”

Shear also shared his excitement being a part of this vision with his partner. He also mentioned that he envisions entering into the television, headphones and content creation industries as well.

With that grand a plan in mind, we can only expect amazing contribution from Kygo and Shear, along with the incredible music Kygo is known for.
