First Ultra Miami and now Ultra Singapore! Yet another Ultra event is going to be forced to find a new space as the existing spot is going to be used to build another hotel.
Marina Bay Sands owner Las Vegas Sands just announced a plan for a brand new hotel tower and entertainment arena. Based off early designs it seems the development will take place right next to the existing towers which currently stands as an empty plot of grass, that is unless it’s time for Ultra Singapore when the whole venue is transformed into Ultra Park.
The announcement was made just a few days ago.
“We are thrilled to share that Las Vegas Sands has announced a bold expansion plan for Marina Bay Sands!
“Marina Bay Sands is an iconic tourism destination that has exceeded all of our hopes in growing leisure and business tourism in Singapore and it is a privilege to receive the Singapore government’s continued support of its development. The property has achieved amazing success for both Singapore and our company and we plan to create even more with this expansion.” – Sheldon G. Adelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Las Vegas Sands.
“New luxury hotel accommodations and a world-class entertainment venue are exactly the catalysts we need to drive additional visitation to Singapore, and specifically to Marina Bay Sands.” – Rob Goldstein, President, and Chief Operating Officer, Las Vegas Sands.
No official news from Ultra as to if they will be moving out next year itself or it will move into the 15,000 seater arena once it’s ready. Only time will tell what’s to happen of the iconic downtown location of Ultra Singapore.
