The most popular lady of world’s electronic scene, Nina Kraviz, will hold her long-desired premiere at EXIT Dance Arena on Sunday, 10 July.
The Siberian diva is considered one of the most charismatic people on the world techno scene, with her performances known for intensive dancing and an incredible connection to the audience. The unique feeling at musical education, together with an uncompromising approach to art, as well as a sincere relationship with the audience have earned Nina Kraviz a headliner status at world’s leading festivals. Her status is even more confirmed as she is one of the residents to Richie Hawtin’s prestigious ENTER event on Ibiza, together with regular performances in some of Europe’s top clubs – Concrete in Paris, Nitsa in Barcelona, Fabric in London, and Berghain in Berlin, and since this year, she is also a resident of BBC’s Radio 1! The popularity of her label “трип”, has created a true invasion of fresh, high-quality Russian producers on the European scene in the previous year.
Nina Kraviz – Between the Beats
Kraviz was born and raised in Irkutsk, while her love for music and records came from her father with whom she listened to jazz and psychedelic rock. During the ‘90s, she discovered acid-house and very soon starts a show on a local radio playing electronic music. Moving to Moscow and working for the “Ptuch” music magazine, as well as later work on organizing techno parties brings her an even better insight in the electronic world, with her ever-growing collection of records growing even more. Very soon she is invited to organize a program and perform a Friday live at the leading Russian club “Propaganda”, which will turn out to be the most important techno and house event in Moscow. Thanks to Nina’s refined taste in music, Russia’s capital is visited by the very top of the techno realm – Theo Parish, Mike Huckaby, Dopplereffekt, Juan Atkins, and many others. Musically educated Nina worked hard in the studio, releasing her debut single “Voices”, followed by extremely successful EP “Pain in the Ass”. This maxi single features hits such as “I’m Gonna Get You” and “Ghetto Kraviz”. A defining moment in her career was recording a mix for the legendary TV show “DJ Kicks”, named by critics as one of the best, together with mixes by the likes of Carl Craig, Tiga and John Talabot.
