The Weeknd has achieved a feat that only the who’s who of the music industry achieve.

Set to headline the coveted halftime sure during the 2021 Pepsi Superbowl LV, it’s a clear sign that The Weeknd has placed himself in the high leagues.

In their second year in a row where NFL and Pepsi have teamed up with Roc Nation, the three-time Grammy Award-winning artist is set to headline the event scheduled to take place early next year. In these times of uncertainty with the pandemic, we’re unsure what the Superbowl will look or feel like, but at the moment, the Big Game is set to take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Hot off the heels of his fourth studio album After Hours, this performance is monumental and will be special and unique. Speaking about performing to an audience larger than any other, the “Starboy” and “Blinding Lights” hitmaker said, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”

The Weeknd will join the iconic list of Halftime show headliners. While 2020 saw a sizzling on-stage collaboration between Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, the star-studded list of other Halftime performers is extensive and includes the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Coldplay, Michael Jackson, and many more.

Listen to After Hours and get ready for this epic performance here.
