Tidal announced the introduction of a new beta feature called “DJ” which is currently available only to iOS users who are signed up for the HiFi Plus Plan.
With opportune timing with all the holiday parties, this feature allows users to create mixes and mashups, making them the DJ.
The DJ feature which is not to be mistaken with the Tidal for DJ feature which gives DJ’s access to Tidal’s catalog to use within their own software, DJ allows users to create a set and share it with their friends and followers, who can tune in and listen to the mix in real-time, just like a live broadcast or podcast. Currently only iOS users can create the mixes, but android users can tune in and listen.
While Tidal is known for its high-fidelity audio, this feature will allow for music to be playing in regular AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) quality instead.
Those interested in giving the feature a whirl can sign up for the early access program on the link here. The HiFi Plus subscription is free for the first 30-days and then on is $19.99 a month.
