As the westward Dance circuit comes to a wintry close and the Northern Hemisphere hibernates, Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE continues to take in club fans from across the world to its beachfront bastion. Today announcing the calendar for December, this clubbing culture mecca on the shores of the Persian Gulf is set to bask in the next monthly wave of touring talent on sunned sands by day, and bear the torch for techno on the famed starlit terrace by night.
The usual titanic fare of names fit for this burgeoning brand come in Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn, Patrick Topping, all topped off by the experiential, existential bliss of a NYE soiree from Spanish family run and internationally celebrated party brand, elrow – one furnished in all the authority of Dennis Ferrer. A New Year celebration with all the rapture of life-affirming abandon would seem unusual or unlikely to most, if it were not for the unconventional and atmosphere-attentive partying of club-land’s champion: elrow bringing confetti, costumes and mischief to the club this festive season.
A rising brand of the international scene themselves, Manchester’s Kaluki inaugurate the month with irresistible force, from an officiated squad of Patrick Topping, Pirate Copy and wAFF. Fighting fit from time on the road and bolstered by the recent release of the military-grade ‘Original Pirate Copy EP’, this crew are experts of explosive sets. Long held amongst the pinnacle of underground players, DJ T arrives with dancefloor weaponry stocked over an illustrious career on the decks and off captaining Get Physical Records and Groove Magazine. A&R still owe a contents page entry to this patron of club culture, showing off his pedigree in assembling Matthias Tanzmann and Luna City Express for the showcase.
Closing out the year with the promise of making a clear highlight between them an impossibility, a further trio of nights and top-seed acts keep Blue Marlin war-ready in a bid for pride of paradise. Climaxing in the color-drenched countdown of elrow into 2017, Joris Voorn follows Chris Leibing who follows Maceo Plex in a week-in-week-out marathon amid simmering climes. Emotionally charged techno is Maceo’s market dominating mainstay, though he finds ample competition from Voorn and Leibing for commanding moods in reverberating, room-filling, resonant tech-house. Each harnessing considerable Ibizan fame – Joris with ANTS, Chris in Space, Maceo with his own Mosaic nights at Space – they provide the perfect taste of the White Isle.
