While the fans and audiences are the ones that can make an artists career in music kick off, they can also bring them down just as fast.

And in a heartbreaking turn of events, Getter just announced that he was finding it extremely difficult to cope with the negativity and backlash he was getting from certain fans during his Visceral tour and was hence calling off the remainder of the tour.

Earlier this week, Getter took to Twitter stating this was his last tour and he was “over it.” While he got immense support from his fans and fellow artists alike on that post, what followed later in the evening wasn’t expected. Getter posted a note to his social media claiming “…the constant hate and the disgusting attitudes I’m faced with are destroying me.” He also profusely apologized to his true fans, but said he would have to go ahead and cancel the rest of the tour.

Getter in the recent past has been faced with booing at shows and getting things thrown at him during shows on this tour. His so-called fans were upset and didn’t appreciate he was playing the music from his Visceral album ON the Visceral album tour! Accepting and sending out a defeated and disheartened note explaining the cancellation of the remaining tour dates, Getter started with a simple “you win.”

The new album saw Getter step away from his comfort zone and the bass-heavy sounds he has been known for in the past. The project over three years in the making finally came to life in late 2018. The 12-track album was released on mau5trap and featured a bunch of collaborations, a lot of which were very unlike his previous collaborators.

Ending on a somber note, Getter signed off saying he needed to make himself happy again and this seemed to be the way to go. While the industry came together as a whole to encourage and support Getter, they were quick to appreciate his courage and dedication throughout the process.

In all honesty, no artist deserves this treatment and his true fans and the industry in unison are standing shoulder to shoulder with Getter to support him and have him back up on his feet. Such reactions would definitely have dampened his spirits, but we’re hoping Getter is back stronger than ever to silence these haters once and for all.

Check out the words of encouragement he got from Zeds Dead, Jauz, Alison Wonderland and a bunch of more artists.
