US Interview

Dynamic musical duo US have been impressively collaborating across the globe from both Mexico and London to produce a new wave of innovative and exciting EDM tunes with hints of Progressive and Big Room vibes.

You can expect mesmerising melodies, sublime sound design and infectious beats in every single one of their releases. They have recently released a 6-track EP, collaborating with some amazing artists; we caught up with Ubaldo and Sober to discuss some behind the scenes exclusives.

T.H.E – How long have you been working on this EP?

US – We’ve been working on the idea for couple years now, we started with the working title and vision for the project, then over the last 2 years whilst still releasing separate singles we been producing and recording for the EP.

T.H.E – What would you say your favourite track is from ‘20US’?

US – All of them but if we had to say one, we would probably say ‘Kids’ as it makes us act stupid and wish we were younger lol. We really enjoyed making that one.

T.H.E – What was it like working with such a range of people?

US – It was great! That’s what we wanted from this project, to collaborate with a few artists, as we didn’t really do that on our 1st EP.

T.H.E – Where did you gain some of your inspiration?

US – A lot of inspiration comes from just constantly listening to music nothing specific, for this as well we’ve recently been indulging in a lot of Faithless so we’ve been trying to use our vocals in subtle and effective ways to suit our style.

T.H.E – How do you work together living in different countries?

US – Just constant communication, we’re a team so we make sure we stay active in each other’s distant lives, we’re really good friends outside of making music too.

T.H.E – Who impresses you in the industry right now?

US – At the moment, we’ve been impressed mostly by Marshmello for his range of variety and consistency.

T.H.E – Where did you learn how to produce music?

US – Self-taught from just being passionate from a young age, the rest you learn from experience and your peers.

T.H.E – What advice do you have for people just starting out their career?

US – Be patient and follow your heart. Ignore the negativity your brain sometimes conjures up and remember why you started.

T.H.E – What’s next for US?

US – We want to continue to promote ’20US’ for the next few months then we are planning to release another project straight away.

T.H.E – Where can we go to buy ‘20US’?

US – Most online stores i.e. Beatport, Spotify, Apple Music, etc., you can also get a physical copy!
