Wolfgang Gartner Takes On Drum & Bass With “Automatic” Featuring Custom Trained AI Voice Models

Legendary DJ and producer Wolfgang Gartner prepares for his second release with Dim Mak Records, showcasing his latest track “Automatic” where he seamlessly blends electro funk with drum and bass – out on the label on February 9.

Regarded as a dance music pioneer in so many ways, Wolfgang Gartner is constantly steps ahead of the rest. With this release, the producer reveals that he trained AI models using different vocalists to create a synthetic voice – which yielded the vocals in “Automatic.” With so many ways to use AI, Wolfgang finds it an incredible tool to enhance his production, and has spent a lot of time honing in his AI manipulation skills, surely a production skill that will be used far more in the future.

On the track’s significance, Wolfgang adds; “This one represents new territory for me across the board. It’s my first DnB track in over 25 years and will be the first one I release, after rekindling my love for the genre last year, I’ve been compelled to spend a fair amount of my studio time in the jungle. The 3 rapverses on the song were written & rapped by me then morphed into 3 custom trained AI voice models, using two different speech-to-speech resynthesis applications designed for voiceover work and video game audio.”

The Grammy-nominated producer has been a staple in the dance community for over 23 years. With releases on Ultra, Sony Music, and Mau5trap, Altlantic, a total of 8 of Wolfgang Gartner’s tracks have held #1 position on Beatport Top 10 Chart, with his single “Wolfgang’s 5th Symphony” being the highest-selling song on Beatport in 2009.

In 2011, Wolfgang released his first full-length album, ‘Weekend in America.’ Featuring vocal cameos from Omarion, Jim Jones & Cam’ron, will.i.am and Eve. Wolfgang has top tier chart-topping collaborations under his belt with the likes of deadmau5, Skrillex, and Tiesto, all paving the way for him to take on some of the biggest festivals in the world: Tomorrowland, Coachella, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, Creamfields to name a few.
