Apple Music, that’s what we’re all buzzing around about!

Apple’s latest announcement at their WWDC brought the news of not only the new iOS but also Apple’s latest endeavour towards gaining a stronghold in the music streaming sector, Apple Music!

Consisting of 3 components, Apple music will allow users to stream music, access a 24/7 radio station and will also have a dedicated social media platform. We’ll get into the details shortly. Basically what apple has tried to do here is squeeze in all the parts of apps such as Spotify, SoundCloud, Pandora and Tidal. Whats more interesting is that Apple Music will be available on Android devices as well!

The main component of Apple music will be its streaming platform. Users will have access to over 30 million tracks from across the globe and will be easily available on all devices.Having struck deals with Drake, Pharrell and David Guetta, curation will be a large part of the application. In addition to human curation, Siri® is also dedicated to helping you enjoy great music and have fun with Apple Music. Ask Siri to, “Play me the best songs from 1994,” “Play the best FKA twigs song,” or “What was the number one song in February 2011?”

Apple Music’s next service shall be the Beats 1℠, a 24/7 radio station that shall stream content across the globe. Led by DJs Zane Lowe from Los Angeles, Ebro Darden from New York and Julie Adenuga from London, the station will feature interviews and guest hosts along with discussions on music topics across the globe.

Next up will be Connect, a new social media platform. Connect will be integrated into the app and will be quite similar to that of Tidal with artists releasing exclusive content on the app. (For example: Drake has announced that he will be releasing his upcoming album through Connect). Through Connect, artists (signed and unsigned) can share lyrics, backstage photos, videos or even release their latest song directly to fans directly from their iPhone. Fans can comment on or like anything an artist has posted, and share it via Messages, Facebook, Twitter and email. And when you comment, the artist can respond directly to you.

Apple music launches on most Apple devices on June 30th with users entitled to a free 3-month subscription after which the rate of $9.99/month shall apply. A Family plan option is also available with service for up to six members available at just $14.99/month.

Not bad! Cant wait to see how well Apple Music performs with top brands such as Spotify and SoundCloud gaining a stronghold in the industry.
