Australia has provided some great artists to the Dance Music industry, and Melbourne Bounce as a genre is obviously very well known in itself. Our Artist of The Month for July is a duo from Kangaroo Land, twin sisters Miriam and Olivia, better known as Nervo.

Born and raised in Ivanhoe, Melbourne, the twin sisters of Italian descent studied at Gennazano FCJ College in Kew before beginning their careers as models with the Australian Chadwick Models Agency.
However, the duo always maintained that music was their top priority. After signing a contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and the duo began a career in songwriting.

The duo went on to write for the likes of The Pussycat Dolls, Ashley Tisdale and Kesha.
After dropping their songwriting career once their deal with Sony expired, the duo ventured into singing with Swedish musician Fredrik Olsson. It was through Olsson that the duo met with Kelly Rowland and co wrote ‘When Love Takes Over’ which was then produced by David Guetta and featured on his ‘One Love’ album. The song became a chart topper and was recently named as the #1 all time dance music collaboration by Billboard.

In March 2010, Nervo announced a worldwide recording deal with Virgin/EMI which included a joint venture to release new artists that Nervo discover and produce. Nervo then released a single called “This Kind of Love” on UK based Loaded Records. This was followed by the duo working on tracks for Kelly Rowland, Kylie Minouge, Britney Spears and Armin van Buuren.

Their track “The Way We See The World” with Afrojack was chosen as the Tommorrowland anthem.

Afrojack further collaborated with them on “We’re All No One” which also featured Steve Aoki, and went on to top the charts.

The duo also got their own radio show “NervoNation” on Sirius. Their 2012 single “You’re Gonna Love Again” catapulted them to global fame and became an instant chart topper.

Their 2013 collaboration with Nicky Romero called “Like Home” also received a fantastic response, and to date is their highest ranked track in the UK.

They followed it up with another single “Hold On”.

In 2014, the duo worked with R3hab and MAKJ on “Revolution” released on Spinnin Records and was one of the biggest tracks of the year.

They worked with R3hab on another track called “Ready For The Weekend”.

The duo also announced plans to release an album in 2015.

They released the first single of their album called “It Feels” in February this year, and collaborated with Dev on another track called “Hey Ricky” which will also appear on their album.

Having played all the big festivals in the world, written some chart topping tracks and produced some brilliant tracks themselves, we can’t wait to see what Nervo will achieve in the near future!
