Next up on Lost Records is one of house music’s men of the moment in the form of Cera Alba. Following up great EPs on Viva, Moon Harbour and Hot Creations, he now comes correct with two more tracks that get remixed by SEFF.
Cera is a UK talent who is also resident in Ibiza this summer having impressed there last year at the Emerging Ibiza festival. He makes no nonsense house beats with real meat in their bones and this new EP is no different.
‘Blacklight’ gets us going with barrelling beats, dark vocals and slinky percussive lines that just never let up. The track rolls and rolls and your rump will too, because this is a no messing about affair. The SEFF remix then gets more nuanced and melodic, with creepy keys and chords adding some last night colour to the sweaty beats.
‘Weapon is then another full fat house tune with loopy drums, feathery hi hats and vocal yelp that really shoot out of the mix. A robust bassline and clever filter use all make this another sure fire hit in the making.
This is an essential EP of hard hitting house that cannot fail to win many fans with DJs and dancers alike this summer.
