Fresh from opening Madison Square Garden for Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 100 celebrations, London’s ilan Bluestone continues to ride the wave of studio success that has made him a favourite with the likes of Radio 1’s Pete Tong over recent months. His second 3 track EP of the year is yet another anthemic collection with a rich orchestral heart; the “Snapdragon EP”.
A swirling leviathan of sound, “Snapdragon” highlights ilan’s skill for perfectly crafted peak-time tracks. Blossoming from a small, ear catching idea to a full cinematic spectacle, “Snapdragon” erupts into a vast euphoric release; the plucky lead and driving bassline sending the dance floor into a frenzy.
Taking its name from the 1985 space shuttle, “Atlantis” is a slow burner with a more progressive nature. With shades of early 2014 hit “Big Ben”, ilan weaves string and brass elements together, combining for a rewarding and emotive climax.
Debuted in full effect at Madison Square Garden, “Aurora” takes inspiration from the classic trance synths ilan grew up with; the dark and destructive drop and chopped lead giving the track a ravier edge.
