As arguably the world’s biggest Electronic Dance Music festival, Tomorrowland gets prepared to celebrate its 10th year anniversary, we take a trip down memory lane and identify the 10 most magical things which are responsible for this magical journey!
1. The Destination
Who can deny the beauty of that main stage and the lakes and all the fields surrounding the musical area? The festival grounds of Tomorrowland are matched by none. It’s called magical for a pretty good reason!
2. The Journey To Boom
If you happen to be on one of the special flights carrying only and only ravers heading to Boom, there’s a good chance it’ll be the best flight you’ve ever boarded. Ravers singing their favourite tunes together, creating a musical environment on flight and sometimes, even Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike showing up on the flight surprising everyone!
3. The Church of Love
This is an extremely unique feature. While the festival also has a kissing point (a circular podium made specially for lovers, overlooking the sunset on one of the lakes in the festival area), The Church of Love goes one step further. Two nuns protect the hut-like room, where you will find a bed, condoms and tissues. Quite the homely environment for lovers eh?
4. Food and Belgian Beer
Another unique feature is the unrivaled dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a VIP meal overlooking the main stage (made by chefs from two Michelin star restaurants) or grabbing a quick bite between Knife Party and Steve Angello, there are plenty of dining options there. And there is the low-cost local Belgian beer, that festival goers crave for on a warm Sunday afternoon with Carl Cox blasting out some chilled tunes. Sounds perfect doesn’t it?
5. Music
470 DJs play at Tomorrowland every year. There is no need to mention the big names that play there but with Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Hardwell, Avicii, Carl Cox, Skrillex, Knife Party, Axwell, Nicky Romero and plenty more, Tomorrowland pulls in the best artists from every genre. There are more than a dozen stagesand be it Marcus Schulz playing a marathon 12 hour set on his own stage or Laidback Luke dressed as Superman you’re guaranteed a good time.
6.The Early Sell-Outs
A lot of Tomorrowland 2013 tickets sold out in one second last year. Literally one second. The servers crashed in the process. The rest of the crowd was able to cough up some bucks for the Full Madness Passes in 35 minutes. Only Tomorrowland can promise sell-outs such as this every year!
7. Fresh Points
Ever felt disgusted at a festival because you were all sweaty and there were still three sets left? Tomorrowland ensures that it won’t happen there thanks to their unique FreshPoints, private spots where ravers can refresh themselves and there’s even a designated guy who sprays some perfume on you.
8. The Mansion
A massive house with 12 beds, a fully stocked fridge and a jacuzzi right in the midst of thousands of ravers and more than a dozen stages, it doesn’t get any better. It’s unmatched luxury and its at Tomorrowland.
9. The Moments
Thunder when Avicii dropped Wake Me Up, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike bringing their grandparents on stage or Armin dedicating his set to his newborn son, Tomorrowland is all about those small moments.
10. Aftermovie
If for some reason you couldn’t make it to the festival, or you attended the festival but can’t recall a lot of the stuff that went down, Tomorrowland creates the perfect aftermovie for you- all the music, all the parties, all the moments, and all the ladies. The aftermovie also features a great soundtrack, usually handpicked by Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike or Vyes V.
