Going against the grain of declining record sales, Xilent’s debut album is virtually dominating charts within just a few days of release.
Rocketing straight into the US iTunes Dance Chart at #11 and already at #4 on Beatport’s overall releases, Xilent’s long-awaited debut has finally come to make its mark.
At nearly 3 years in the making, this album represents a serious amount of work on the part of the Polish producer. As he traveled the world performing he was ensuring every moment of inspiration was put into practice and added to the melting pot.
The challenges of making an album like this so coherent are many. Working in so many different ideas and styles into just an hour of music. Being fresh and original whilst retaining the signature sound that has won him so many fans all over the world. It’s no mean feat but Xilent has really pulled it off. It’s become a bit of a cliche describing albums as a ‘journey’, but in this case its definitely true. Although it takes in a plethora of genres and moods, it somehow does this seamlessly. Like moving through different locations and landscapes at high speed.
Whilst ‘We Are Virtual’ encompasses such a glorious whole, that doesn’t mean that the parts that make it up can’t be considered great on their own. This is reflected by the huge support for the individual tracks both online (UKF, EDM.com, Less Than 3, Most Addictive) and on radio (Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale), all of which has helped push those single tracks into dominant chart positions on Beatport’s genre charts too.
