10 electronic music acts that need to come to India in 2017!

With two festivals having concluded recently, and one more massive festival coming up next month, India is currently the centre of attention in the industry, before Miami season kicks off in March. Dozens of artists have made their way to India, with David Guetta touring last week and Eric Prydz next month. We decided to compile a list of a few more acts who need to get on the next flight to India!

1. Calvin Harris

acts

This name is probably on top of everyone’s list. Calvin is an absolute hit machine, works with some of the biggest stars in the world on a regular basis (eg. Rihanna),and has a fan base that goes beyond genres and geographies. He’s also immensely popular in India, and a Calvin Harris show would definitely be sold out within minutes. We also know that he’s one of the most expensive artists to book, so we may also need an organiser with deep pockets.

2. Daft Punk

acts

We know we’re getting very ambitious with this list, but EDM fans in any country would be more than happy to have a Daft Punk concert near them. From ‘Around The World’ to ‘Instant Crush’ and most recently the global superhit ‘Starboy’, their music is popular among people of various age groups. We’re sure that their Indian fans would travel to any corner of the country to see them, should they decide to show up in India.

3. Porter Robinson

acts

Well, we couldn’t just let the list go on without this name could we? Anyone who’s heard his music swears by him, and we can understand why, since this supremely talented artist makes some very addictive music. His live performances are also known to be one of the best ever, and videos of his Worlds tour shows will leave you amazed. Porter Robinson would definitely be a big hit in India, as very few world class concept shows have been played here.

4. Jack Ü

acts

We’re partially cheating with this name, since both artists behind this duo have come to India individually. However, having Skrillex and Diplo together on stage would cause more fireworks than Delhi during Diwali, and this explosive duo would sell out a show very easily if they toured India. Even fans who’ve seen these two separately would be more than happy to see them together, and would probably hope Justin Bieber shows up like he did during their Ultra Miami set a couple of years ago.

5. Madeon

acts

He became an overnight sensation at a very young age, and has continued to produce quality music since then. Tracks like ‘The City’ and ‘Icarus’ are absolute gems, and even though he’s not as well known as the previous artists on this list, he’ll be able to match them with his powerful live performances. We’d definitely love to see him perform in India.

6. Martin Solveig

acts

Hello is the first word that comes to mind when you think about Martin Solveig! The ‘Hello’, ‘Blow’, ‘Night Out’ and ‘Intoxicated’ hit-maker has a great individual style about him that’s helped him produce great tracks time and again. Add his infectious energy and great live performances to that, and you have an artist who anybody would be happy to see live. We think he should definitely come to India, just like his countrymen David Guetta and DJ Snake.

7. Flume

acts

Who isn’t a fan of this Australian artist! He’d probably be right up there with so many others on the list of popular artists who haven’t played in India yet. Be it his remixes of ‘You and Me’ and ‘Tennis Court’ or his tracks like ‘Insane’, ‘Some Minds’, ‘Drop The Game’ or ‘Say It’, his tracks have some great vibes! We’re sure that his fans in India would love it if he performs on a breezy afternoon in Goa sometime soon.

8. ZHU

acts

Now we know that this artist has only recently revealed his identity and hasn’t extensively traveled for live performances yet, but we’d love to hear tracks like ‘Faded’, ‘The One’, ‘Cocaine Model’ and ‘As Crazy As It Is’ somewhere in a big music festival in India. He only continues to grow in stature and already has a large number of fans in India. Maybe he could bring his ‘Generation Why’ tour to India.

9. GAIA

acts

Once again, we’re slightly cheating on this one. Armin has been here multiple times, for Sunburn Goa, ASOT and Armin Only. However, if there’s one exciting act today that’s getting two legendary trance producers on one stage, playing music that’s the real deal, it’s GAIA. Ever since Benno and Armin played together at Ultra 2014, it’s only gotten better with each performance, and India would definitely love it if the two guys in coats showed up!

10. Jauz

acts

His tracks like ‘Rock The Party’, ‘Get Down’ and ‘Infected’ have been playing at festival sets and at parties everywhere. His remixes, like the one for ‘Ratchet’ by Zed’s Dead are absolutely off the charts as well. His live sets have an absolutely amazing vibe, like the ones that Skrillex and Borgore bring. Why hasn’t someone brought him to India yet? We don’t know, but we do hope someone brings him here real soon!
