STMPD RCRDS

A record label founded by one of the biggest names in EDM, Martin Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS turns 2 today and to sum it up shortly, it’s been quite the journey.

Founded on March 4, 2016, STMPD RCRDS (pronounced Stamped Records) was the product of one of EDM’s most talked about disputes – that between Martin Garrix and Spinnin’ Records. In August 2015, Martin Garrix officially parted ways with Spinnin’ Records and MusicAllStars Management, the team that had propelled the young DJ to superstardom. The separation was cited by Garrix as a disagreement between himself and Spinnin’ about the ownership rights of his music. STMPD was soon formed after all legal proceedings between Garrix and Spinnin’ were finished with the motto – “Artists First. Always.”

A fun fact, Garrix’s label actually got its name from a very personal history. It turns out Garrix Sr. had a stamp auctioning business and Martin thought it would be fun to use the word Stamps in the name for his record label.

Since the formation of the label, there have been over 50 tracks released on STMPD RCRDS with over 20 artists featured. Some of these artists include, Arty, Area21, DubVision, Brooks, CMC$, Loopers, Liøne, Salvatore Ganacci, Third Party and many more. Of course, while majority of the music released on the label is by Garrix himself, there is definitely some very good quality music coming out of STMPD from other artists as well. The label has released music across a length of genres from tech house and downtempo to progressive, electro house and quite a bit of trap and future bass.

Let’s take a look back at some of STMPD RCRDS’ biggest and most memorable releases:

Here is STMPD RCRDS’ latest release – Keep My Light On, a beautiful progressive house anthem from DubVision & Raiden. Check it out here:

STMPD RCRDS also had its own show on Apple Music’s Beats 1. We’re not quite sure what happened there as we weren’t able to find any post about a STMPD radio episode beyond #6. Guess Garrix had more pressing matters at hand by then with being the world’s #1 DJ and all. As Martin would probably say, Oops?

So there you have it – The impressive journey of a label turning 2, and how it’s grown courtesy of a dedicated team and superstar music producer at its helm. Wanna hear more music from STMPD RCRDS? Check out it’s full archive right here. You’re sure to find something that fits your taste.

On a side note, congratulations to Martin & his whole team. Here’s to another successful year with STMPD RCRDS.
