Editorials

Trance is one such genre that is all about the visuals. Soul-filled vocals, uplifting melodies, groovy beats and of course, surges of love and happiness throughout the show!

And what makes we enjoy about trance concerts or festivals the most is the feeling of togetherness and love that the crowd demonstrates. Everyone is welcome, and it feels like one big family reunion. In our opinion, one of the best ways to experience trance music is by attending a trance concert or a festival. So, to make things easier for you, we list down our top 5 trance festivals that you must attend in 2019 if you get the chance to. Each of these festivals is unique in their own way and have very different experiences to offer. Do check them out below.

Luminosity Beach Festival

One that always makes it to the top of our list is Luminosity beach festival. Started off as a passion project by Bo Van Eck, this festival is hosted every June at Beachclub Fuel in Bloemendaal. The line-up of the festival boasts of the best of artists in the trance. Having multiple stages, this festival not only respects trance legends and classics and gives them their pedestal, but also give opportunities to a lot of rising talent. This is a festival that most trance fans around the world vye to attend and if you ever manage to get the chance, you definitely should!

A State Of Trance

Magnum Opus of the flag bearer of trance, this is the pet project of Armin Van Buuren that started off as a radio show and went on to become a full-fledged event taking place in multiple countries across the world. The biggest and the most important one is the one that takes place at the Jaarbeurs, Utrecht. Multiple stages, brilliant venue, tastefully curated lineups, and the overall vibe is amazing.

Dreamstate

Touted as “Your Trance Destination”, this festival is a sub property by festival giant Insomniac who is best known for EDC. Apart from hosting a stage at the premier festival, Dreamstate also hosts it’s stand-alone festival all across the USA and has recently branched out to Europe as well. The inspiration to start off this festival came about when Jeff Ryan saw a trending trance hashtag and saw how powerful and dedicated the trance community is. There has been no stopping ever since and this festival grew to gain the reputation of being one of the best in the world.

Transmission

Transmission Festival is a large indoor trance music event originally based in Prague, Czech Republic at the O2 Arena. In March 2014, the festival was held for the first time in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 2016, it leaped beyond European shores and extended its arms into Asia and Australia. The beauty of Transmission lays in the fact that the festival has a theme that it follows and the line-ups are designed in such a manner that they align with the theme of the show. The sets are tailored to match them as well and the production does go hand in hand with the entire set-up. Also, another reason why Transmission stands out is because of its top-notch production and of course, the lasers! No other festival in the world, not just trance, but even other genres can match up when it comes to the production and lasers that Transmission invests in. The festival aims at giving its attendees an all-around experience where they use the music and the visuals to tell a story. This festival is one that you must catch atleast once in your life. You will be mesmerised!

UnKonscious

Despite just being a year old, this festival has already made its mark on the scene. Started off by Srangkun Sirsinha, a man who has been really passionate about trance, he got to see a lot of trance shows across the world. After festival trotting, he wanted to bring back these experiences back to his home country and give the locals there a taste of this as well. Apart from the music, he also wanted to give it’s attendees an all-round experience of exploring the place and indulging in local activities as well. What we also love about the festival is the fact that each day showcases a specific label, with its superstars playing on the stage. Also, there are no multiple stages, so you won’t miss out on anything!

There are multiple other trance festivals around the world and we are sure they are wonderful as well. However these five festivals are so unique and different in their own ways, we know for sure that these are some you shouldn’t miss out at all. So which ones are you planning to attend this year? Let us know in the comments below!
