MTV and Clash have called Nadia Nair the artist of the future. She is also known to be the fastest rising talent with her music surpassing all genres. Nadia has her own vocal style as she weaves in her diverse influences that include different genres of music like rock, soul, western pop, classical music and other ethnic and folk influences.
Nadia Nair grew up on the Swedish west coast in a town named Gothenburg. Since she was 4 years old, she has always been seeking her place in the world of music. As she grew older, it became quite evident that she was meant to perform on stage and be in the limelight as she moved from playing the violin to singing, with an added gradual shift to writing poetries and creating music.
At 15, she took a decision of devoting her life to singing on stage. What followed was a magical journey of a singer in becoming. She packed a bag and moved to Stockholm to focus on her music, but, in the early stages she did not reach the musical heights she envisioned with her collaborations with other musicians.
What happened next was not short of amazing. Not being satisfied with her music, Nadia moved to the countryside on the west coast of Sweden, where she spent her childhood. She parked herself there for a year. There is definitely an inspiration in one’s roots. Going back to her childhood and being close to her childhood instruments, Nadia brought to life new songs and energy to life.
In the summer of 2012, Nadia Nair met her musical soul mate namely Victor Rådström who is a songwriter & Producer. They got together and went on to writing Nadia’s debut single – ‘Bon Voyage’. Her music will feel genuine and inspiring at the same time if you’ve heard it. Nadia recognizes herself as an artist and songwriter first, followed by being a producer.

Her Inspiration:
Nadia’s mother has inspired her in being more expressive. According to Nadia, her mother always found a way to get her ideas out there. Their home was always filled with her mother’s paintings because they could not afford to buy fine art. However, Nadia’s mom pushed her to be creative and show off her talent. This helped Nadia overcome her fears and truly grow as an artist.
Her Releases:
Nadia Nair made her debut with Beautiful poetry in 2016. She then went on to release, two more singles namely ‘Forever’ and ‘Pull Your Fingers Through My Hair’ as collaborations with artists and directors like Ama Awe, Amandah Andersson, Linnea Jardemark, Moa Wiking, Christian ”Kiwi” Berg, and Anna Bergström. She went on to release her most recent single ‘K’ which is bold and intimate. While everyone can have a different interpretation of ‘K’, Nadia encourages her fans to have their own interpretations of her works of art.
Her collaborations:
Nadia hasn’t done too many collaborations, however, she is always on the lookout to be involved in more. ‘Clocks in The Dust’ is one track on Beautiful Poetry where Nadia worked with another writer – Sebastian. She has also collaborated with two out of four guys from Milano Sun. She found this collab natural as they came from the same town. She also describes the entire collab with Milano Sun as fearless, which was the most exciting part. Nadia loves to collaborate with someone she can connect with and bond to.
Her Sound:
Nadia’s music essentially strikes the listener note after note as her voice is filled with vulnerability and strength which will pierce through one’s heart. Her music is both raw and honest and resonates with the world as it is today. In her musical journey, Nadia has transformed her sound into something external and still manages to touch on one’s spiritual side. Her lyrics are usually amplified with strong and convincing vocals which are forever evolving.
There is no second thought on how talented Nair is. She is an artist and producer from Gothenburg who is creating ever-evolving, inspiring music that helps listeners, in feeling true freedom.
Her story is as inspiring as her music. We as humans tend to feel shut down when we do not hit success easily. However, Nadia has always pushed forward with her music, and also believes that hardships and failures are motivation. She always says – ‘when life gives you lemons, make a milkshake’. She has the ability to turn her journey and lessons into poetry and lyrics for her listeners. She always dares to be the light that can inspire others to help focus on self-growth. She is already grabbing ears with her single ‘k’ and we can’t wait to see her music evolve with all the upcoming releases she has planned for us.
