The Primavera Sound (or simply Primavera) is an annual music festival in Barcelona that started in 2001.

Due to the success of the festival, Primavera has introduced different editions across the world and 2022 brings us the first Primavera Sound in LA. You can find musical inspiration at the Primavera, just like you could find wonderful surprises at the end of Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold. Read along to know more about LA’s event!

The dates

This is one of the largest music festivals in Europe and will take place from June to November 2022 in different cities including Barcelona, Porto, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Buenos Aires. The Primavera LA edition will debut from September 16 – 18 at the LA State Historic Park.

The venue

The LA State Historic Park is within the Chinatown neighborhood of LA. The area is also known as the Central Park of Los Angeles. Since there is no onsite parking for this event, you can choose to park at the street parking and paid private lots nearby. However, you should use public transportation or rideshare options instead.

Primavera will open at noon each day.

The artists

The Primavera will feature some of the biggest alternative, pop and electronic acts around. Headlining the Primavera LA are the Arctic Monkeys, Nine Inch Nails, and Lorde. The following is the festival line-up over the 3 days:

Friday, September 16: Clairo, Current Joys, Darkside, Lorde, Mitski, Mustafa, Stereolab
Saturday, September 17: Bicep, John Talbot, Khruangbin, Machine Girl, Nine Inch Nails, Paloma Mami
Sunday, September 18: Arca, Arctic Monkeys, Girl in Red, Helena Hauff, James Blake, King Krule

Conclusion

Since the first edition in 2001, Primavera has grown both in terms of attendance and media coverage, with the latest edition in 2019 drawing 220,000 people and receiving national and international media exposure. The highly anticipated sold-out 20th edition of Primavera will take place in Barcelona with the debut edition in Los Angeles. So don’t miss out on this year’s festival.
