Blink-182 is a punk rock band from California, and it was formed on August 2, 1992, as a pop-punk band, and is considered to be one of the pioneers of the genre, as well as one of the bands that contributed to the massive success of the genre in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Cheshire Cat was the name of the band’s first official album, which was published shortly after the publication of their debut album in 1995. Blink182 was forced to include the number -182 because a techno band and the harness they were using were both named Blink, and the band feared legal action.
Band Blink182 has been referred to as the “current punk version of The Beatles” because they have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and cheap Blink182 tickets and are considered to be one of the most influential punk-pop bands in history.
Blink 182’s Beginnings in Music
With a consistent string of hits, the band was able to capitalize on the popularity of MTV music programming in the late 1990s with amusing and nonsensical humor videos that were popular during that period.
In San Diego, specifically in the suburbs of California, the band Blink 182 came to be, with guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor as the core members.
As they are more widely known, Blink made their début with the song Fly Swatter in 1993. After joining the label Grilled Cheese, they released the album Buddha in 1994, followed by the album Cheshire.
A curious fact about Blink 182 is that they originally planned to call themselves Blink-183, but following an alleged threat from an Irish band for stealing their name, they changed their minds and opted to call themselves Blink 182.

● When Raynor left for college, Travis Barker, the drummer of Blink-182, was called in at the last minute from his then-current band, The Aquabats, to fill in. Barker was compelled to memorize all of the band’s songs in a short period of time.
● DeLonge and Hoppus began performing in DeLonge’s garage, improvising songs that they made up on the spot as they went along. Then, they began composing new songs with Raynor and rehearsing at Raynor’s house, where they continued to work together.
● They gained fame while performing on the Warped Tour in 1996 and 1997, alongside bands who were far more popular at the time, such as Pennywise and NOFX. They have made appearances in several skateboarding videos as well.
● DeLonge was introduced to the trumpet at the age of 11 by his father. He wasn’t very good at it, so he switched to the guitar right away.

Their first tour began in Australia, and they went by van, which they got only for this occasion. In Australia, they were invited to perform thanks to the generosity of the band Pennywise, who paid for their tickets due to the lack of financial resources available to the young but motivated group.
