Music has become increasingly established in the video game sector.
For some years now, companies create soundtracks for their games, or also opt for songs that already have a history. Here are the top 9 video game songs of all times:
1. ‘Song 2’ by Blur
For the first time, EA Sports used real songs for its soundtrack. The theme song for FIFA 98 was Song 2 by Blur, which also played in the game’s menus. Two other Californian bands contributed songs: The Crystal Method, with four songs, and Electric Skychurch, with one song.
2. ‘Guerrilla Radio’ by Rage Against The Machine
This is the second track from the 1999 album The Battle of Los Angeles by Rage Against The Machine. The track was part of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. Have you played it yet?
3. ‘Don’t Come Close’ by Yeasayer
Grand Theft Auto V is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by British company Rockstar North and distributed by Rockstar Games, it was released on 17 September 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Yeasayer’s Don’t Come Close was part of the soundtrack – we won’t forget it!
4. ‘Gears Of War’ by Megadeth
This song was made for the video game Gears of War and later appeared on the 2007 album United Abominations.
5. ‘War’ by Poets Of The Fall
This band formed in Helsinki has had a great influence in the gaming industry. It is so that their music has been unleashing amazing remixes. Furthermore, the band has had their music featured in several video games.
In this list we include their participation in Alan Wake with songs like ‘War’, ‘Children of the Elder God’, and ‘The Poet and the Muse’ the latter using the name of the fictional band Old Gods of Asgard created for the story of the video game.
6. ‘Shattering The Skies Above’ by Trivium
It’s the original song for the video game God Of War: Blood And Metal and for its release the band’s singer and guitarist Matt Heafy said: “When we were originally asked to do an original song for the game, we were a bit perplexed as we’d never written a song for anything that wasn’t a Trivium recording.
But we answered the call as we are fans of the game. Writing the song has been a fun experience. We started forming riffs together on tour and then spent quite a bit of time on the song when we got home and had a chance to get in the studio to work on our ideas as a band.
This new song captures a certain energy that we had been trying to harness in the recording, so it will show our fans around the world where Trivium is headed musically in the future.”
7. ‘Far Away’ by Jose Gonzalez
This song was performed by Gonzalez at the Spike Video Game Awards as he won the Best Song Award for his appearance in Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption. Other mini-games can be found within it, with which you can listen to other types of music.
The game has introduced a number of board games to help you unwind a little. Poker is the most popular game in Red Redemption along with Blackjack. However, if you want to particularly play these games, you can always go to more specialized sites such as the top Vegas online slots. Through providers like this you can play classic table games and play for real money.
However, if you are looking for slots, this could be the place for you. There is a wide variety of slot machines that allow you to play until you get tired, and if it’s not to your liking, you can change without waiting for the other machine to become available.
On offer are more classic machines that you play with 3-5 reels, such as gladiator, or more modern video slots, which have bonuses and extras. Last but not least the musical atmosphere is no less impressive.
8. ‘Carry On’ by Avenged Sevenfold
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the ninth game in the Call of Duty franchise and a sequel to 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.
