A trip through Martin Garrix’s musical evolution: 2012 – 2016

Martin

It seemed just a while back that a new 17-year-old youngster by the name of Martin Garrix had a hit single titled ‘Animals’ out in stores, topping dance charts across the globe. Fast forward and today that same individual is not only a global sensation and multiple award winner but the world’s #1 DJ, the youngest to ever hold the title.

So what’s the best way to celebrate our artist of the month? Well we couldn’t think of any way better than by taking you, his fans through a journey in his music from 2012 to now.

First up is Martin Garrix’s very first release on Spinnin’ Records. A collab with Julian Jordan, this track was a HUUUGE hit at the time. Check out BFAM!

His collab with Jay Hardway, Error 404 is up next.

Nope, you can never forget this one.

Remember this Martin Garrix remix from way back in 2013?

This one’s a hard hitter and was a massive festival hit when it released in 2014.

Guess now that you see Martin’s journey he is a ‘Wizard’ after all ;)

Yet another release on Spinnin’ Records, this time, a collab with Afrojack!

A turning point came in Martin’s career, and I believe it began with this song! There was no turning back for Martin post Forbidden Voices. He was on a journey to make it (his dreams come true) happen and he did.

A rumored collab with Usher was all set to be Martin’s biggest track after ‘Animals’, even before it was out.

His collab with Avicii definitely deserves a mention here,

One of my personal favorite Garrix tracks, and his first release on his own STMPD RCRDS, ‘Now That I’ve Found You’ featuring John Martin & Michel definitely needs to be on this list.

If you haven’t heard this single yet, it just means you either haven’t left your home in months or (sad to say) have not been paying close attention. Martin’s ‘In The Name Of Love’ featuring Bebe Rexha has been binging all across radios, concerts, departments stores and house parties. It even helped Martin win two EMAs this year.

And finally to top it off, just as Martin was announced as the world’s #1 DJ, he released a stream of seven tracks in the ADE week. Here’s just one of them but you can check em all out right here as well.

So that’s that. For those of you who made it to the end I hope you’ve appreciated and enjoyed the 20-year old’s journey. The Dutchman has truly evolved in the kind of music he produces and his brand altogether. We wish Martin all the best in his future, and hope to see him soon!
