Las Vegas is one of the most famous cities for live performances in the world.
Whether it be singers, operas, theater shows, or anything in between, there is arguably no better place to watch a performance.
If you want to see a live show in Las Vegas, here are some of the biggest and best venues that have been the stage for numerous notable people and performers.
T-Mobile Arena
The T-Mobile Arena is one of the best and most famous stand-alone venues on the Strip. It’s the home of the Vegas Golden Knights ice hockey team, and has also hosted numerous performers and events.
Most notably, it has hosted the Billboard Music Awards, The Killers, Billy Joel, Guns n’ Roses, Drake, Lady Gaga, and Elton John, to name a few.
MGM Grand Garden Arena
While not the biggest arena in Vegas, the MGM Grand Garden Arena has been a staple in the Las Vegas entertainment scene for many years now. While it’s primarily used for wrestling and combat sports events, it’s still very popular with musicians and bands.
The Lumineers, BTS, Andrea Bocelli, Pearl Jam, and multiple others have all made the MGM Grand Garden Arena part of their tours over the years.
House of Blues
The House of Blues is another legendary name in the Vegas music scene. While the House of Blues in Las Vegas isn’t the oldest establishment in the chain, it’s easily one of the most popular outside of one of the original House of Blues venues in New Orleans.
While the venue isn’t the biggest, it has the heart and soul of a hall that is 10 times as old with 100 years more history. Chris Cornell, Rammstein, Outkast, The Strokes, and even the great James Brown have put on some of the best shows at the House of Blues.
Mandalay Bay
There’s very little chance of you not hearing the name Mandalay Bay when it comes to live music. The Mandalay hotel, restaurants, clubs, and performance areas are some of the best in the business, and the Bay has a long list of performers that prove its popularity.
Destiny’s Child, Sting, the B-52s, Journey, Mary J. Blige, Fergie, Rush, and dozens more have all stopped and performed at Mandalay Bay at least once in their careers.
Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas
The Hard Rock Cafe is another famous name in the Vegas music scene. While the first Hard Rock was opened in London, and the chain has venues across the globe, Hard Rock Las Vegas is widely recognized as the one you have to visit at least once.
The Sex Pistols, Beastie Boys, Paul McCartney, Prince, and multiple other music superstars have rocked the house at the Hard Rock over the years.
MGM Grand
There are very few hotels and resorts that are more famous and well-known than the MGM Grand. It has been a staple on the Strip since 1993, and has featured in multiple TV shows, movies, and music videos.
The Grand Garden Arena is one of the venues under the MGM Grand name, and it also has a nightclub, theater, and multiple stages. If you want a live music and performance extravaganza, and if you can only visit one place in Vegas, it should be the MGM Grand.
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts
The Smith Center can be found in downtown Las Vegas, and is home to The Reynolds Hall, Myron’s Cabaret Jazz, and the Troesh Studio Theatre. The center has also been home to numerous Broadway shows, such as the Book of Mormon and the Lion King.
While the center doesn’t host tons of world-famous singers, you can often find numerous live shows by opera and Broadway performers on their calendar.
The Colosseum
The 4,100-seater Colosseum is another mainstay on the Strip. It is widely regarded as the “Home of the Greatest Entertainment in the World,” and has played host to dozens, if not hundreds, of the world’s greatest performers.
Celine Dion, Elton John, Cher, and Rod Stewart are just a few of the legendary singers that have held shows at the Colosseum. Adele is the newest resident at the Colosseum, with some of her best performances being seen by thousands every weekend.
