A$AP Rocky and Rihanna just confirmed they’re expecting baby number three, and fans are already speculating on the name.
The couple, who are proud parents to two adorable R-named boys, RZA, 2, and Riot, nearly 2, seem to have made it clear that the “R” theme isn’t going anywhere. During a laid-back and funny chat on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Rocky didn’t shy away when the host asked him about sticking to the R-name tradition for their next baby. “For sure,” he replied without hesitation.
So yeah, it’s basically official – baby number three is getting an R name too. And honestly, are we even surprised? Both Rihanna and Rocky have R names themselves (Robin and Rakim), so it just makes sense to keep the legacy alive.
The 36-year-old rapper, known for his cool attitude and bold fashion, also brought a little comedy to the interview. He told Seth Meyers about how his grandma Cathy turned up at his Met Gala afterparty in full-on party mode. Why? Because she was hyped to meet her crush – fellow Met Gala co-chair Colman Domingo. “She was really ambitious about going because she wanted to meet her husband,” Rocky joked. Apparently, she stayed the entire night just waiting on Colman to show up. Sadly, he didn’t make an appearance, so Cathy didn’t get her fan-girl moment. But still, imagine being Rocky’s grandma and just casually partying with celebs.
As for Rihanna, the queen of surprise announcements did what she does best – dropped baby news in style. Just before hitting the Met Gala carpet, she released a stunning portrait by photographer Miles Diggs showing off her baby bump, confirming the news that fans had been speculating about for days. She later arrived fashionably late in true Rihanna form, wearing a Marc Jacobs outfit that totally owned the night – a grey bustier and floor-length black skirt that made her bump the centerpiece of the look. This year’s gala theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and of course, she nailed it.
Rocky, on the other hand, arrived earlier and spoke to reporters about their growing family. “It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up,” he said, smiling ear to ear. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy.”
Rihanna, 37, is no stranger to shocking the world with her pregnancy reveals. Who could forget when she casually revealed she was pregnant with Riot during her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show? Iconic. In an interview with British Vogue, Rihanna once said that having a baby changed everything – but only made her and Rocky closer. “We’re best friends with a baby,” she said. “Everything changes when you have a baby, but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer.”
Now, as the world waits for baby number three, one thing’s for sure: it’s going to be another R-name and probably just as cool as the first two.
