Amazon Shuts Down Comments to Shield Blake Lively Amid Explosive Lawsuit with Justin Baldoni

Amazon just hit the mute button, and fans are noticing, the trailer featuring Blake Lively for her new film Another Simple Favor dropped this week on Prime Video’s official YouTube channel, but there’s one major thing missing: the comment section.

Yep, Amazon has disabled comments entirely, a move that feels a lot less like routine moderation and a lot more like a PR damage control mission.

Why? Because Blake Lively is currently neck-deep in one of the messiest legal battles Hollywood’s seen in a while. She’s suing It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment, emotional distress, and retaliation stemming from their time filming the 2024 drama. The lawsuit, filed in December, alleges a toxic on-set dynamic that left Lively feeling unsafe and silenced.

Baldoni, of course, is fighting back, hard. He’s denied all accusations and has gone full scorched-earth in his response. Not only did he sue The New York Times for libel over coverage of the allegations, but he also filed a defamation suit in January against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their longtime publicist Leslie Sloane. Baldoni even claimed that Taylor Swift, a friend of the couple, was used to influence production decisions behind the scenes. If that sounds wild, that’s because it is.

Now, with Another Simple Favor set to premiere May 1, Prime Video seems to be doing everything it can to keep the focus on the film, and not the drama. Turning off comments isn’t subtle, but it is effective. The platform has left comment sections open for other recent trailers, so the silence around this one is loud.

Fans are divided. Some say Lively is being protected from internet hate mobs; others argue the studio is avoiding valid criticism. Either way, it’s clear the fallout from her legal standoff with Baldoni is already bleeding into her professional life.

The real kicker? Baldoni’s team has gone so far as to release behind-the-scenes footage of him and Lively dancing on set, allegedly to prove their relationship was friendly. He’s also launched a website filled with their alleged texts to try and control the narrative ahead of their March 2026 court date.

For now, the public will have to decide for themselves. With the trailer now muted and both sides lawyering up, Another Simple Favor is arriving under a cloud of controversy. Whether Blake’s performance shines or the off-screen storm overshadows it completely remains to be seen.

One thing’s for sure, no one’s commenting, but everyone’s watching.
