Barbara Bush recently shared a hilarious parenting update on Today With Jenna and Friends, revealing that her 7-month-old baby boy, Edward Finn, is already weighing in at 30 pounds – almost as much as her 3-year-old daughter, Cora Georgia.
Co-hosting alongside her twin sister Jenna Bush Hager, Barbara Bush laughed about how fast her baby boy is growing.
“Well, he’s a big guy,” she said. “He’s 30 pounds. To put it in context, my 3-year-old is 32 pounds. So, he’s large and in charge!”
Jenna playfully chimed in, saying they “do not want to body shame him,” to which Barbara responded, “No. He’s perfectly proportionate, and he’s here for the ride.”
During the segment, Today aired rare family photos of Barbara, her husband Craig Coyne, and their children. The snapshots gave viewers a glimpse into their family life, which Barbara typically keeps private.
According to the World Health Organization, the average 7-month-old boy weighs around 18 pounds, 5 ounces. However, the Mayo Clinic notes that babies tend to gain weight quickly in the first six months before their growth rate slows.
A Growing Bush Family
Barbara and Craig welcomed their first child, Cora Georgia, in September 2021. Their second child, Edward Finn, arrived in August 2024, with Jenna being the first to share the news.
“My sissy had a little mister, and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn!” Jenna posted on Instagram.
The twins’ parents, former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush, became grandparents for the first time when Jenna and her husband Henry Hager welcomed their eldest daughter, Mila, in 2013.
Jenna and Henry, who have been married since 2008, also share daughter Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5.
