Following Demi Moore’s high-profile divorce from Die Hard star Bruce Willis, she began a new relationship with the That ‘70s Show alum, Ashton Kutcher. Their relationship was all the fudder of tabloids, due to their significant age gap. (Moore was 40 when they met- Meanwhile, Kutcher was 25.) But despite their fifteen-year age difference, Moore says she felt a “soul mate” connection with Kutcher that she’d never experienced with anyone else.
“He was twenty-five. I was forty,” Moore writes in Inside Out. “But I’m telling you: we could feel it. We were totally in sync, from our very first conversation.”
During the honeymoon phase of their relationship, Moore says Kutcher was the perfect partner. In fact, according to The Ghost star’s memoir, Inside Out, she felt happy in her relationship with Kutcher that she became “addicted” to him. As a result, this led to codependent behavior, which ultimately pushed Kutcher further and further away from her.

“Ashton was less and less present,” Moore claims in her memoir, Inside Out. “He was focused on other things: his work; his growing involvement in the tech world; his fantasy football league. He couldn’t have been clearer that whatever he was doing was really important – and I don’t fault him for that. But I do wish I’d been able to value myself in the same way.”

According to Moore, she’d do things with Kutcher that went against her own needs in an effort to please him. She says in her memoir that she wanted to “mold herself” into his dream woman, at the expense of her personal comfort levels. One of those things was agreeing to add a third member into their bedroom, despite Moore wanting a monogamous relationship with the No Strings Attached star.
“I wanted this marriage to work, and I was willing to do whatever it took, to jump through any hoop,” Moore writes. “So when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn’t say no. I wanted to show him how great and fun I can be.”
Unfortunately, despite Moore’s eagerness to save their marriage, things only got worse from then on.

To add fuel to the fire, the St. Elmo’s Fire actress claims she discovered Kutcher was being unfaithful to her through a Google Alert on her phone. Rather than the That ‘70s Show alum fessing up in person, Moore suspects that Kutcher wanted her to find out this way, so that she’d be more inclined to end their marriage.
“I got a Google alert on my phone,” Moore said in her memoir. “‘Ashton Kutcher caught cheating; flashed across my screen. It was during the weekend of our anniversary that had just passed. There were quotes from a young blonde replaying Ashton’s pickup lines. I felt sick to my stomach: I knew those words. I knew she wasn’t lying.”
Later, The Substance actress said, “He spent the night with her, got up, and drove home to celebrate his anniversary with his wife.”
After over a decade of being together, this was the final straw for Moore. She says in her memoir that the public manner of his behavior made her feel like Kutcher was purposefully trying to get caught. “You couldn’t at least have found a way to cheat on me quietly?” Moore writes in her memoir. “To privately break my heart without dragging me through a public gauntlet of humiliation?”

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have been officially divorced since 2013. Not long after their split, Kutcher began a relationship with his former That ‘70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis. Soon after, they got married, and have been together ever since.
Meanwhile, Moore is thriving in her career, and was recently nominated for an Oscar in her critically acclaimed role as Elizabeth Sparkle in The Substance.
While Moore and Kutcher have lived separate lives for quite some time now, Kutcher was allegedly furious with his ex-wife following the release of her tell-all memoir. He even made a telling Tweet about it in 2019, saying, “I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it.”
While he called Moore’s tell-all memoir “humiliating and embarrassing,” he is trying to own up to his mistakes throughout their marriage. He told Esquire Magazine, “You own the sh*t you did wrong, and you go forward.”
