The behind-the-scenes drama on “It Ends With Us” just got messier.
A storyboard artist from the crew has stepped up and claimed that Blake Lively tried to take over creative control from Justin Baldoni during production – and might’ve succeeded.
In a recent 60 Minutes Australia interview, crew member Talia Spencer opened up about her experience working on the set of the film. Talia had signed on believing in director Justin Baldoni’s vision for the movie. She didn’t hold back when talking about what went down, saying Blake “smelled Justin’s kindness and took control.”
Talia described Justin as one of the rare directors in Hollywood who treats his team with genuine respect. She felt he wasn’t chasing fame, but instead cared about the story. That’s why she joined the project in the first place. “I feel like maybe Blake mistook his kindness for weakness and tried to take advantage and take power,” she said.
When asked if Blake wrestled control of the film away from Justin, her answer was blunt: “I think she tried to, yes.” Pressed further, she added, “Probably, yeah. I think there was a massive compromise in terms of Justin’s original vision for the film.”
This bombshell comes while Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively are locked in a very public legal battle that’s spiraling into full-on chaos. Back in December 2024, Blake filed a lawsuit against Justin, accusing him of sexual harassment and launching a retaliatory smear campaign. Justin flat-out denied it all and fired back in January 2025 with a countersuit.
But his legal move didn’t stop at Blake – he also sued her husband Ryan Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloan, and PR firm Vision PR, claiming civil extortion and defamation. Blake’s legal team has denied everything.
One of the biggest points of contention? Two completely different cuts of the film. Justin says he oversaw one version, while Blake edited her own, took producer credit, and got her version released as the final cut. That’s what Talia was talking about when she said Justin’s vision got “compromised.”
Neither Justin nor Blake has commented on Talia’s interview yet, but the damage might already be done. Fans are divided. Some are backing Blake, while others are now giving more weight to Justin’s version of events, especially with crew members stepping forward.
Whether Blake Lively actually took over or not, one thing’s clear – It Ends With Us has way more drama off-screen than on. And we’re probably not done hearing about it.
